The September 2012 Multiple Listing Service report by the San Antonio Board of REALTORS® (SABOR) shows:
· A 7% increase in September 2012 sales compared to September 2011.
· Sales in the midrange of prices ($200,000 to $500,000) have been up the last several months, peaking in June.
· Locally, the total number of homes sold has steadily increased in 2012, with only a small taper in September after the summer boom.

In addition to our own obligations, we may we have a parent or family member who needs help with paperwork, billing paying, keeping track of insurance and appointments. Since we don’t have the time to help out on a consistent basis, it can all feel overwhelming. Whether Mom, Dad, or any loved one is still living at home, in an independent living or assisted living facility, or is in transition, we hear of challenges like this on an almost weekly basis. The Department of Defense Homeowners Assistance Program helps military families who are under water on their mortgages. It helps protect their credit by avoiding a short sale or foreclosure. The final rule, 32 CFR Part 239 was published in the Federal Register on November 16, 2010, with an effective date of January 18, 2011.

The median sales price of $152,800 showed an 8% increase from 2009. According to the report, a rise in home sales in the mid and upper range price sectors accounts for the increase. Home sales in the under $200,000 price range remain steady and are comparable to recent months.

There were 1,277 sales in October 2010 which is a 25% decrease compared to this time last year. The average price for single family homes was $183,080 in October which is a 9% increase from last year. The median price for single family homes was $150,200 in October which is a 7% increase from last year. The number of pending home sales was 1,171 in October which is a 21.6% decrease from last year. In determining the best selling price for your home, it is important to set a fair asking price from the beginning. This will generate the most activity from real estate agents and buyers. You should consider the condition of your home, the price comparable homes in your neighborhood are selling for, and the state of the market in your area.

We have been having our kitchen remodeled and everything is almost done except for the backsplash. I just can't make a final decision on a design but it's something I must do next week.
