There is a wonderful annual event in Chesapeake City, MD on December 12th from 6 - 9 pm.  Town Residents and Businesses are hosting a Walking Candlelight Tour of the Historic Homes and Churches while you listen to Christmas Carols from Carolers in period costumes. The cost is only $10.00 in advance and $15.00 the night of the Tour, and is well worth it to go back to a time gone by. Are you all Giddy About The Tax Rebate Extension/Expansion? - I know that there are many who are going to write a post tonight about how great things will be now that the Senate and House have agreed to not only extend...but expand the Program! Most likely the President will sigh it (Ya Think!) but I'm not so sure that this will solve anything, maybe even make things worse. Here are my points...

1. We will have to end this some time (won't we?)So let's get it done now, when sales are naturally slow, and not have the inevitable downturn at the beginning of the hot sales season!
2. Who is buying these mortgages anyway? Without getting overly technical, The banks and mortgage companies have to be able to package and sell these mortgages somewhere! Fanny and Freddie are packaging these, but investors aren't buying, are they? It's the Federal Reserve....Why? No One Else Will! And How does this Work? We are in unchartered waters! The Taxpayers are continuing to shoulder all the risk just to keep the market going.
3. We have to let the prices stabilize and let the market do it!How many of you still have unrealistic sellers hoping that they will get more then their property is worth today. This will only continue to fuel that hope and slow the adjustment. Until this happens, we are just delaying the inevitable. If we don't allow the market to adjust pricing, we are destined to have an inflationary cycle the likes of which many of you have not seen. In the end the true value of the property will emerge, either through price downturn, or devaluation of the dollar. Can't you see the Add! Great Starter Home - Move in Ready! Only $500,000. I was reading a post from Dean Guadagni regarding Location, Location, Location today and was inspired to share the area we live in and why we are passionate about Real Estate in Chesapeake City, Md.

This is a picture of the Elk River Waterfront taken by a Local Photographer for one of our listings. It is looking up the river from the end of Town Point. If you were looking in the opposite direction, you would see the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay at Turkey Point Light (See the Header Picture on my Blog).

 Fall is our favorite time of year in the area. The summer hustle and Bustle is over, the crabs are still good and it is one of the most peaceful areas we have ever lived!

As I was Driving out Town Point Rd last September, I captured this sunrise and if this type of sunrise doesn't get you going in the morning, I don't know what will.
