Pictures speak a thousand words... but are they the right words.  What do yours say?  "Look at me, look at me!" or "Next please!"  In our age of shortened attention spands and the world wide web, images are more important than ever.  Images need to be inviting, comforting... they need to show character and above all else they need to grab your potential buyers attention.  Buyers need something that keep them coming back to a listing as they skim from one home to another.  The process for potential buyers can be overwhelming and quite boring.  Make them stop dead in their tracks.

Obviously hiring a professional photographer (particularly in this market) is not the right choice for every listing.  However, for those high-end listings that will bring in the moola, splurge.  Show your clients that you mean buisiness.  That you have their best interests in mind and are going to the end of the earth to make this property sell.  Eyes widen and ears perk up when you mention that a professional is going to photograph their property if they sign with you.  It even clinches some deals.

In the end, your buisiness grows by word of mouth.  You want your clients telling EVERYONE that you do everything to sell a home, property or buisiness.

I have been busy.  Unfortunately not busy with the things I'd like to be doing.   (this  is a rant more than anything, but as you'll see,  I'm not very good at it...  lol)

I'm not networking enough.   And certainly not blogging anywhere near enough.   And no business.   That's the worst part.  I saw a listing the other day, it had one photo!  How in the world is that agent  plan on selling the house?  One photo, wasn't a great photo either,  and I'm sitting here without work.  Good thing I have kids, otherwise my camera and equipment would be collecting dust in a corner.  So, let's get to it.  I might even give a few discounts.  Yep, that's it.   10% off your photo session if you contact me here on activerain.

So, yea.  That was my rant.  Told you I'm not very good at it.

First off, let me apologize for how grainy this photo is.  big oops on that, lost the original somehow.  Well, anyway, I took this photo at a family members dock heading into Wildwood, NJ.  It was a beautiful brisk morning.  Real morning too, I was there at 6am waiting for the sun to rise.  I hate any am, particularly those that don't have a tens place.  Enjoy!

Hello everyone!  My first post in the group.  I'd love to hear what everyone thinks.  Any tips or pointers for posts in this group?

In this photo, which I took in September, I caught a couple relaxing and fishing off the beach.  Its funny how you spend your life in one place and still are able to discover, or re-discover, places and things.  I've got a bunch more from the past couple of months I'm just getting around to processing, so I'll keep'em coming, unless somebody stops me...Joseph A McCullen, 2007

In the never ending quest to provide better services, I have a question for real estate professionals; What do you look for in a Photographer/graphic designer and how often do you hire one?  Send me an email, tell me what services you need most and what you take it upon yourself to do.

And don't worry! I won't send you sales pitches.  This is just a poll to help me define my services.  However, if you do need work done, be assured I'll respond promptly.

Time is quickly running short.  These freezing winter days and nights won't be here long and when all is said and done, what have you done to be prepared for spring?  Right now is when everyone involved in real estate should be preparing for what may be a seemingly slow and lack luster spring season.  With all of our economy's mortgage and credit woes, being prepared could mean the difference in sales.  A strong marketing campaign and striking images and ads just might be the edge you need to bring in those hard fought leads.  Buyers and sellers alike want to know you are professional, confident and credible.  They want to know that YOU are the agent for them.

So, why haven't you called SilentStill yet?

Just want to take this moment to say hello to everyone here at activerain.
