Bob Dole unloaded on former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan today in an e-mail which could not have been more perfect.
So perfect in fact, that there is little point adding my own feelings about McClellan - but you know I will anyway. You see I have no problem with someone in the Administration disagreeing with it's policies. But the question has to be asked... why did he not simply quit?
OK - over to Bob! You're going to like this whether you are a Republican or a Democrat.

Have you ever wondered just how much money some Realtors made during the boom? They came to your home and negotiated a commission based fee and after you signed the very first thing they did was to place the home in the MLS. They might even have had a $10 an hour assistant to do that for them. In the boom, they might have sold that home the first day.

Countrywide's chairman shows his contempt for borrowers! - 05/27/08 06:25 PM
It was going to happen sooner or later, but Countrywide chairman Angelo Mozilo, finally let slip - almost literally - what he really thinks about his borrowers who have found themselves in trouble.
You see Mozilo received an e-mail from one such borrower - essentially saying "I'm in trouble - how can you help?" and instead of hitting "forward" to send his answer to another executive at Countrywide, Mozilo hit "Reply". And this is what he said:

I was able to start my radio show today with the words "My fellow Americans" which has been seven years in the making!
I guess it was inevitable that today's monologue was about immigration - the legal kind and the illegal kind. I spoke of my journey to citizenship and I spoke of the economic crisis facing our nation and how illegal immigration, while not the cause, certainly wasn't helping.

Donkey jailed in Mexico - really!! - 05/24/08 10:25 AM
This has got to be my fave story for quite some time - and it's all true!! The picture is a link to The Guardian newspaper from the UK.
A Mexican donkey has landed itself in jail after being found guilty of assualt.
The animal was locked up in a holding pen normally used for keeping drunks off the streets after it lashed out at the pair at a ranch in Chiapas state.

Oh yes! My Fellow Americans... it took me seven long years and thousands upon thousands of Dollars in Government fees, but today the day finally arrived and I am very proud to tell you that I am your fellow American Citizen!
It was an extremely early start today because we had to report in to the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, no later than 8am - and my wife and I - well we don't really do mornings and neither does my dog.

This is United States Marine Gunnery Sergeant William "Spanky" Gibson. A couple of weeks ago, Spanky was a guest on my radio show and since then I am very proud that I am now able to call him "friend".
Spanky lost his leg to a sniper's bullet in Iraq and after his incredible recovery - which includes running, skiing and competing in the "Escape From Alcatraz" swim in the waters of San Francisco Bay - Spanky volunteered to go back to Iraq.

In his latest audio release (apparently not available on iTunes), Bin Laden said Muslims should ignore the Islamic prohibition against raising arms against fellow Muslims, claiming it was legitimate to rise up against leaders who are not governing according to Islamic law. Allstate banned again - yes AGAIN - from writing insurance in Florida - 05/17/08 10:03 PM
This has been back and forth so many times it is almost comical, but Allstate Insurance was again banned from selling new policies in the State of Florida until it complies with subpeanas from the State to produce documents.
Several Allstate insurance subsidiaries were suspended from writing new policies after an appeals court ruled this week that the company could be punished for not turning over documents detailing how it sets property insurance rates.
State Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty said that as the dispute has progressed through the courts the company has continued to submit documents and was expected to soon send the … (5 comments)

US Housing starts boom in April - 05/17/08 10:55 AM
US Housing starts posted the biggest increase in more than two years in April. According to the Associated Press, the Commerce Department reported Friday that housing construction rose by 8.2 percent in April to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.03 million units. Most of the growth came from a big jump in apartment construction (apartment building is defined as two or more units), which rose by 36 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 340,000 units.
Applications for building permits, considered a good sign of future activity, also recorded an increase in April, rising by 4.9 percent to 978,000 units. … (10 comments)

The mail arrived today as usual - but this time, the letter I have been waiting for over the last couple of weeks has finally arrived. I have the date for my oath taking ceremony - Thursday May 22 - after which I will officially be a United States Citizen. I am truly proud.

OK - you have to understand this because I don't. Florida's legislative session just ended and among the laws that made it are:
It is now illegal to pop a wheelie!
However, It is still LEGAL to have sex with animals as the beastiality bill failed to be approved. Shock does not even come close to describing how I feel about this. I couldn't believe it was not already illegal!! But I am working to find someone who voted against it to come on my show and explain him/herself.
