This is my first post in some time. I went to have back surgery on 8/7 and what should have been three days in hospital and one surgery ended up as 11 days in hospital and two surgeries. Also two infections that they managed to give me caused some problems!! As you can imagine, this was not what had hoped for. I am now finally on the road to recovery and I am pleased to say that through all this I only missed one radio show and was still able to conduct business through the strenuous efforts of my excellent assistant! Ever since the freak summer of 2004 when Florida was hit by three major hurricanes in six weeks, forecasters have been starting the season with doom and gloom forecasts. It's going to be terrible! Be prepared! (Good advice this one); Its all to do with global warming! And on and on and on and on!! First of all - this is Florida. We know we'll be hit by a hurricane again sooner or later. It would seem that Florida's Governor, Charlie Crist, is finally waking up to the realisation that the insurance reform did not work. In fact just this week we got this: "I'm fed up with them," he said talking about the insurance companies. "I'm very frustrated with this industry." The problem however can be traced back to the Legislature compromising and compromising and basically passing an incredibly weak Bill. There were some good proposals on the original table, but much like Property Tax, they fell by the wayside. My Tampa Bay Bucs are looking good. An excellent first outing against the New York Football Jets saw the Bucs easily win 16-3 with the first string not giving up a single point and the depth in the team apparent for all who cared to look. Next pre season game is at home to Miami on Saturday night and considering they shipped 31 points in their opener, I feel things are looking pretty good in that department.
