waste of time

Last evening I showed a listing that was in fair or good condition that was listed as excellent. I am so happy that we do not have a category that says mint or who knows what it would have been listed as. There were also a couple of other things that were in error. My customers do not want a fixxer upper and it was such a dissappointment to me and to them.Some realtors dont get it list it as it is and stop waisting other reltors and customers valuable time. Also this realtor had to accompany us even though the home was vacant and absolutely no valuables or anything in the home .???????

I think that this week will be kind of dead with the first long weekrnd of the season. Actually it started already. the phones are quiet and the appts are at a standstill. Its time to take a breather and refresh oneself and celebrate the Memorial day holiday. Tomorrow evening I and a team of friends will be putting flags out in my neighborhood in honor of the men and women who died in the wars for our freedom and for the current active duty men and women in the military, God Bless America and thanks to our troops.

On sunday May 18 from 1pm to 4pm, Appleseed Realty, Gmac Real Estate will be conducting a Super Sunday open house from 1pm to 4pm on any active listings that agree to have an open house.At each open house the visitors will receive a handout for all the open houses that day and a brief description of the home with a photo. It is great exposure for our company as well as our current properities.We will be noticed by many as our presence will be out there. The last super Sun was a sucees and we will do the third one on June 22.

technology question

I am not great with the new technology like texmessaging etc. I have a reguar cell phone and a plam piolt which is 10 yrs old, I also have a mavica camera which cost over 700 ten yrs ago as well.They still work altough probably antiquated, the camera is great but uses a floppy disk which some computers dont support. The question is when is it time to dump the old for new and better? Is a blakberry that great and worth changing to? Appreciate help? thanks

I am enjoying most blogs and actually learning some good tips and some interesting Real estate information as well as some good marketing ideas BUT I get so annoyed about blogs unrelated to anything else such as someone posting daily jokes or recipies to get higher on the list . Can we earn More points for real estate blogs as opposed to ridiculous blogs that clog the arteries! Any thoughts from serious real state agents?

Check out this past Sunday parade mazine as part of your Sunday newspaper.There is an interesting article about the best strategies for right now on pg 10. what I liked most about this article is the recommendation that you find the best broker and it states that you are better off paying the full 6% to ensure you get the best service. I think I will copy the article and bring it with me on my listing appts. Do you agree ? There are other

I just listed a beautiful five bedroom colonial on staten island with a million dollar view. Its located at 22 Parkview pl in the Sunset Hill section of Staten Island. I was showing a young couple a no of homes for sale on Staten Island a few yrs ago and at the showing the couple started to whisper and giggle which was very unusual etc. When we completed the viewing they apologized to me. Heres the story, my customer was a nyc police officer and the seller worked in the same precint but they were not close and hardly knew eac other.Apparently my customer overheard the seller telling his friend at the station house that he was selling his home and everything that was wrong with the house. So my guy remembered what was wrong and knew exactly the problems. Small world is it not? Needless to say they did not put an offer in.

I just came from a listing appt from hell. Its a divorce case and the owner is the father of the divorcing husband. His daughter in law was not happy about moving but was congenial, however the grandaughter began a fight with the granfathers girl friend and drew blood,. The listing is on hold never the less.What we have to do to get a listing but I love it anyway, NEVER DULL!

My very first experience with a listing was a nightmare from day 1. The sign company put the sign on the wrong house. I recd an urgent call from a very unhappy person telling me that someone put a sign on her lawn and that her home was not for sale. I of course had it corrected immediately. Only me!

I met a great Realtor at a natl convention in Orange County Cal, a few yrs back 10? She is from Florida and we kept in touch ,She came to Ny once and a few other of my fellow reltors from Staten Island had lunch with her a one of her friends from Fla. Guess what she jusy got in touch with me again with a ny referral.This networking and conventions are a great source of referrals.

I had an opportunity this past summer to visit the Pacific Northwest. An old high school buddy emailed me looking to rent a home on Staten Island for ten days to attend his nephews wedding and a family reunion.So i convinced my wife to offer a swap and go on vacation. at first she said I was crazy but the agreed and we swapen homes. we never saw each other he flew east and we flew west. He lived a short distance away from Portland , Oregon. My wife and I stayed at his home for 6 days and the balance in Seatlle. What a great experince! So Iam ready for another vacation if any realtor wants to visit NYC and lives in an area that we would like to visit email me.
