The Atlanta Humane Society has a new chairman William Shaheen, who has served as chairman of the board of the society since 2000.   President Carl Leveridge announced his pending retirement earlier this year.  He will remain in office until January.
 The Atlanta Humane society has had two important announcements, the first being the change in leadership and the second, the society is opening a new shelter in Alpharetta.  The shelter will be located at 1565 Mansell Road.  The grand opening event will take place on December 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Here is a handy tip for how much paint you will need to purchase.  Measure the areas you are going to paint, and then convert to square feet.

Exterior Smooth                       375-475 sq ft
Interior Rough                          120-190 sq ft
Interior Smooth                        420-490 sq ft

City of Alpharetta Household Hazardous Waste Collection - 11/03/11 10:17 PM
Saturday November 12 between the hours of 9 A.M. and 1 P.M. residents who live within the city limits of Alpharetta will have the opportunity to dispose of their household hazardous waste and paint.  This is a one day collection at the Hembree Road location. The hazardous waste and paint will be disposed of properly or recycled.

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners and the Department of Health and  Wellness is offering to Fulton County residents the: National Association of County Officials Dental Discount Program.  This program provides residents with discounts on certain dental services and procedures when using an approved dental provider.   Information on the Dental Discount Program is available at the county’s health centers, public libraries and senior centers.  Residents can also call 1-877-354-6226 for more information.
