For the past 21 years, Kevin Finneran has been playing professional lacrosse and coaching lacrosse. Coach Finn has several lacrosse camps scheduled in New Jersey and South Florida. These camps are designed to increase a players abilities on and off the field. 

Kevin, who is originally from Long Island, NY, graduated from Ohio Weslyan University in 1989 where he majored in Economics Management and received All-American honors as a midfielder. After graduation, he played professional indoor ball for 13 years primarily with the Philadelphia Wings where he won 5 Championships including one with the Toronto Rock. Kevin also played 5 years of professional outdoor lacrosse with the Long Island Lizards of the MLL where he won 2 Championships. He was also a member of Team USA that won the World Lacrosse Championship in 1998 as well as team captain of the United States National Indoor Team.

Okeechobee County's first jail built in the early 1900's located at 300 N.W. 2nd Ave., Okeechobee Florida could not be saved.  Due to structural issues, this historic land mark began its demolition this week.  As I drove past yesterday, my heart sank as I witnessed the "old jail" coming down.  I could only think of the stories or better yet the books that could have been written from all the events this tiny jail witnessed.  Thoughts of cattle rustlers, cheating gamblers, bank robbers and other Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies flashed through my mind.  The contractors have saved most of the original bricks and will use them in another new beautification project in the future.  I have attached photos, the 2nd story cell is very visible with solid steel and the old bars.  Okeechobee's next historic project is the train depot, don't let the opportunity to help this project fail, contact and join Okeechobee's Main Street for more information and how you can help.
