A Neighborhood 4th of July Tradition Continues On July 4, 2000, with only about 20 families living in the community, The Riverfront at Harbour View 4th of July Parade was born. Children and families decorated their bikes, wagons, and even skateboards, and made their way down River Club Drive to show their patriotism in celebration of our nation’s Independence Day. In those days, there were far more parade participants than spectators – but not anymore. Twelve years later, more than 800 families now live in this resort-style community in Suffolk, Virginia, and the 4th of July Parade continues as an event (0 comments)

Many Benefits come from living in a golf course community. Not into golf? Well, many of the families moving into a golf course community actually don't play the game all that often. Why are so many homebuyers choosing to buy into one? It used to be a known fact that if one lived in a neighborhood that had a golf course and clubhouse, their primary for doing so was to be closer to the game they love. Not any more. They like living in a golfing community because of the quality of homes and the other fun recreational opportunities that come (0 comments)
golf course community hampton roads: 7 Top Trends in Today's New Homes - 04/28/11 04:02 PM
Times have changed, and people aren't living in their homes the way they did five to ten years ago. There are some new "old" features that builders should try and incorporate into their new homes today if they want to stand out and appeal to today's homebuyers. Of course, there are still certain things that the different buyers want in their new home- an empty nester buyer doesn't necessarily want what a young family considers important, but I've put together a list of 7 top trends that we've seen in our four new home communities in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Why have planned communities become so popular in today's economy? Yes, people are building and buying new homes again in Virginia, and we're excited about what's going on in our four East West Communities in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Builders have definitely stepped up and are taking great care of the customer, AND we're seeing outstanding new home values as a result. One of the drawbacks of the building boom a few years ago was the fact that builders couldn't meet their closing deadlines (0 comments)

All of the signs in our market area indicate a better year in 2011 for real estate home sales. I realize that many buyer brokers are looking for the "best deal" for their clients because their buyers initially tell them, "I want the best price for a house, I don't want to pay too much in today's economy". Fair enough. I understand that there are short sale opportunities out there and many potential buyers see them as the best deal on the surface. But is it really the best home for their family? What is the right decision? Is it (6 comments)

golf course community hampton roads: How Long Should You Stay Open on Super Bowl Sunday? And Who's Going to Win? Packers or Steelers? - 02/06/11 08:56 AM
If you've ever been a new homes site agent, there are certain Sundays that are harder to work than others. There's Mother's Day, of course, Memorial Day weekend, July 4th, and maybe a few others. (We close on Easter and around Thanskgiving & Christmas for a few days) And there's also Super Bowl Sunday - it has always been hard to work for me as I am a huge football fan and I love watching all of the festivities leading up to the game. Sure it helps that the time of the game has been moved to primetime, but the Super Bowl parties usually (7 comments)

The Riverfront at Harbour View community creates a resort lifestyle for its residents through the many first class amenities it provides. But it's the human element that really brings it all to life. Anyone can build a swimming pool, playgrounds, even waterfront parks, tennis & volleyball courts, and babbling brooks, but the programming of these facilities is the vital component that creates that sense of community people are yearning for.
At The Riverfront Swim Club, it's the full time Activities Director that functions as the heartbeat of the community, bringing it all to life. Summertime fun at the pool (0 comments)
