Great news! The city of Gary revealed on May 18 that there are grants available to Gary residents in amounts up to $15,000. To qualify residents must live in target areas and have "low income". This program is curesty of US Department of Housing and Urban Development. The guidelines of the program state that in order for the homeowner will be eligible for $15,000 if the homeowner is doing exterior home improvement, and $25,000 for comprehensive home improvements. Recently, Rep Brown joined homeowners in their plight to determine why Lake County taxpayers received a zero check for their tax rebate. According to an article in the Times newspaper, the Lake County auditor was following orders from the state auditor. Then, if the citizen accepts the call the inmate hijacks the citizen's phone number.
