ptbac: How Can You Be Pro-Life & Pro-War? - 07/10/08 10:05 AM
I was stopped behind an SUV with a bumper sticker posing this question on July 3 on my way home from work - and my head almost exploded!  Talk about painting people with a broad stroke.  For some misguided reason, the person in front of me was under the egregiously mistaken assumption that those who are pro-life are somehow in favor of war.  What's more, this is also a not so subtle jab at those who oppose abortion by sarcastically mentioning pro-life and pro-war in the same sentence. 
Now, I happen to be a Pro-Life Catholic.  And this car magnet was clearly directed at Christians … (40 comments)

Boston College defeated Notre Dame 4-1 to win the Men's NCAA Hockey Championship in Denver, CO on Saturday. Nathan Gerbe broke a scoreless tie early in second period to put the Eagles up 1-0. He followed that with a power play goal three minutes later. Joe Whitney then netted a goal of his own, also on the power play, less than three minutes after that. Notre Dame scored a minute later to make it a 3-1 game. In the third period, a play ruled as a goal by the on-ice official was overturned by instant replay after a lengthy delay. In … (4 comments)

If perception were reality, then the answer to this question would be a resounding "Yes."  But before we paint a segment of society with such a broad and negative stroke, wouldn't it be wise to ponder the question a bit further?
