Speechless Sunday - Well...Almost :) - 12/19/10 03:36 PM
Here in Houston, TX (or Cypress more specifically...NW Houston area), we rarely get the treat of seeing FALL COLORS!! Occaisionally, the tallow trees and maples will turn red or yellow...but mostly everything here stays green or turns from green to brown.
BUT NOT THIS YEAR!! We had enough cold snaps early on, that many trees and bushes are putting on quite a display of vibrant color!! I have included a couple of snapshots of our crepe myrtle bushes in the back yard. I just gaze in awe as we have six of these beauties right now!!

The Cold Winter, Warm Engine Rat Story - 12/18/10 01:45 PM
My parents were recently told by their pest-control man --they have "rodent activity" in their attic. The weather has been rather chilly here lately, and so the rodents head for warm spaces. This post by Loreena Yeo was most informative, as I had never heard of rats nesting (AND CHEWING ON WIRES) in cars!! Good information to pass along!
