The year is getting off to a good start with 43 sales so far. Although there were 63 sales in Jan 2012, with 197 properties in escrow and 26 under contract, there’s a good possibility Jan 2013 will surpass that number. This week two condos and two homes went into escrow. Of even greater interest is the speed with which the homes went under contract – take a look below for all the activity:

And Hau’oli Makahiki Hou once again! 2012 went out with a bang with a total of 884 sales for the year which is a 16% increase over 2011 with 761 sales. The month of December really picked up steam posting an 81% increase over Dec 2011 – with 89 sales compared to 49 in 2011.

Welcome to the last Princeville, Kauai Condo and Princeville, Kauai Home blog of 2012. It’s been a good year with plenty of buyers acquiring their Kauai dream home.
We raced right through the sales stats for Dec 11 which had 49 sales, posting a 57% increase with 77 sales this Dec, and we may still have one more day for recordation. (Not sure if the Bureau of Conveyances is open New Years Eve or not.) Year to date is also higher, with 872 sales for the year compared to 761 for 2011. May is starting out in full swing with three condos going into escrow and four homes selling. The general consensus is that the market is in recovery – and we did handily surpass April 2011 sales of 58 with 71 this past month. Condos were well above last April, with 33 sales, 10 of which were in Princeville, compared to 23 total last April. Homes had a slight increase, going from 27 to 29.
