pets: Photo Essay: Country Pets - 04/23/12 08:05 PM
I would like to share a few of the animal photographs that I have taken this month. I am entering this post as part of the Pet Project contest. The attached video unfortunately highlights the need for a month to be designated as Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month. It is sad and graphic. It tells the story behind the two horses in my first photograph. Thank you to everyone that has participated in the Active Rain Pet Project contest. I believe it has done a wonderful job of highlighting the importance of looking out for the animals in our midst. Although (12 comments)
pets: Dropping Pets Off at a Ranch or Horse Boarding Stable: Don't - 04/23/12 04:47 PM
Pets. We love them. They make us smile. They make us laugh. They make us cry sometimes. They can be so loveable. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances come up that would cause a person to be unable to keep their pet. Unfortunately, it has happened to me before. What happens if you can't find a new home for your pet?
Please do not dump your pet on the side of the road or at the entrance to someone’s ranch or horse boarding stable.
Just because someone has a ranch or stable does not mean that they will be able to care for another cat (9 comments)
pets: Easter Chicks - Good Idea or Bad Idea? - 04/04/12 01:51 PM
Easter chicks, baby ducks, little bunnies. Chances are good that your local feed store has some in stock. The pictures below were taken with my cell phone at the Big R store in Fountain, CO. Although my pictures are somewhat fuzzy, little chicks, ducks, baby geese and bunnies are undeniably VERY cute. Should you buy a few? Well, it depends on why you really want the chicks.
Do you think they would make a great Easter gift? This is a very, very BAD idea. Don't buy live chicks. Go find a stuffed animal or something else. If you (10 comments)
pets: Active Rain Photoblogger Contest: Why Did You Leave Me? - 05/10/11 12:58 AM
Why did you leave me? I'm scared without you. I love you. I thought you loved me too. It seems like it was just yesterday that you brought me home. You were so excited. You just bought your new house. You said a cat made it feel more like a home. At that time, I was just a little kitten. I remember, you always told me that I was so cute and playful. You said that I had the pinkest nose you have ever seen.
When you started bringing in boxes, I enjoyed exploring them. I thought they were FUN. (60 comments)
pets: Those most faithful - 08/30/08 07:33 PM
How do you reward those who are most faithful to you? Do you tell your clients thank you? Are you willing to gently tell a co-worker that they missed a button or forgot to zip the zipper? Will you take the time to call or email someone if you saw a comment on their post that would upset them? Do you allow yourself to have a bad hair, no make up day? Would you let your dog go swimming knowing that you have to ride in the same car with him/her for the next 12 hours? How do you reward those who (17 comments)
