walmart: Can a Walmart Be Beautiful?

Have you ever seen a Walmart that was so beautiful that you stopped to take a picture? Let's face it, most Walmarts and other box stores are not particularly attractive. Functional...yes. Attractive.....not really. The Walmart in Woodland Park is an exception. Woodland Park is a small, flourishing city located 18 miles to the west of Colorado Springs in Teller County.
This picture was taken at sunrise. As result, some of the special features are not as noticeable. This Walmart's features include the statue in the front, split rail fencing, very nice landscaping, decorative light fixtures in the parking lots, … (18 comments)
walmart: Bittersweet Changes

Have you ever wanted to cry as you walked through a grocery store? The last couple of times that I've shopped at the Albertson's store next to the Wal-Mart on Longmire Drive in College Station, I found myself on the verge of tears. Maybe, I'm a little sentimental, but I done the vast majority of my grocery shopping there for over 10 years. They are closing the store next Sunday, June 29th.
That means that Albertson's will be open for only 7 more days. I hope that all of their long time employees will be able to quickly find … (9 comments)
