Use your IRA to invest in Real Estate
Many people are still unaware that it is now legal to invest funds from you retirement accounts. And that there can be significant tax advantages to doing so. Property transaction has to be handled though custodian, offer is written in the name of IRA account and IRA pays all of the taxes and fees. After you sell property and hopefully you do so for the profit, original investment plus the profit rolls back in to your IRA TAX FREE!

nc: Are your sellers still in denial? - 08/27/08 02:20 AM
I am very positive person! I try to surround myself with positive people all the time.

But being positive and acknowledging situation are two different things!  Prices have come down and are still coming down but there are still sellers that are in denial and that are expecting some kind of appreciation. Maybe even more aggravating to me is that there are still agents that are in denial and overpricing houses. (I often wonder how they can afford that in the market like we have it right now, LOL I guess that will be my next post)

nc: North Carolina Symbols Part VIII - 07/19/08 12:15 PM
State Nickname, The Tar Heel State - Historians have recorded that the principal products during the early history of North Carolina were tar, pitch, and turpentine that were produced in the pine woods of the state. There are several stories as to how North Carolinians came to be called Tar Heels. The best known emerged during the Civil War. Troops from North Carolina, during a fierce battle in Virginia, stuck to their posts, successfully fighting it out alone. It was said that President Jefferson Davis wanted to buy all the tar in North Carolina to make Virginians stick fast, too. General … (1 comments)

State Motto, Esse Quam Videri - Esse Quam Videri (To be rather than to seem) The General Assembly of 1893 adopted the words "Esse Quam Videri" as the State's motto and directed that these words with the date "20 May, 1775," be placed with our Coat of Arms upon the Great Seal of the State
The motto is a literal translation of a phrase from a sentence in Cicero's "On Friendship" (De Amicitia, chapter 26). The complete sentence in Latin is:
Virtute enim ipsa non tam multi praediti esse quam videri volunt (Fewer possess virtue, than those who wish us to … (2 comments)

State Vegetable, Sweet Potato - The sweet potato was officially designated the State Vegetable by the General Assembly of 1995.
Students at a Wilson County school petitioned the North Carolina General Assembly for the establishment of the sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) as the Official State Vegetable. Their assignment led to the creation of this state symbol. The sweet potato is high in vitamins A and C and low in fat and was grown in North Carolina before the European colonization of North America.
According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, North Carolina is the largest producer of sweet potatoes in the … (0 comments)

State Tree, Pine - The pine was officially designated as the State Tree by the General Assembly of 1963. Contrary to popular belief, no specific type of pine tree was specified in the Session Law. Eight types are considered indigenous to the state, including the eastern white, loblolly, longleaf, pitch, pond, shortleaf, table mountain, and virginia. The pine is the most common of the trees found in North Carolina, as well as the most important one in the history of our State. During the Colonial and early Statehood periods, the pine was a vital part of the economy of North Carolina. … (0 comments)

State Insect, Honey Bee - Designated by General Assembly in 1973 Honey Bee became North Carolinas official State Insect. This hard working creature is responsible for the annual honey production worth more then $2,000,000 in the state. Not a native species, the honey bee was brought to North America by settlers from Europe. Honey, which bees produce to feed the colony, is a natural sweetener. In the process of gathering nectar to make honey, bees pollinate seed-bearing plants that provide us with food and with fiber for clothing. Pollination is biggest Honey Bee's contribution to North Carolina crops.

State Fruit, Scuppernong Grape - Designated by General Assembly in 2001 Scuppernong Grape became North Carolina State Fruit. The name comes from the Scuppernong River in North Carolina, where it was found and first cultivated during the 17th century. nc: Easley backs law to help some N.C. homeowners - 07/05/08 09:13 AM
North Carolina is probably one of the most fortunate states when it comes to the entire sub-prime crisis and foreclosures. we do have our sheer of problems and gas prices as well as overall economy situation can very well be felt here just as much. Still we have experienced 9% increase in number of foreclosures since last year. Not all of it should be blamed on sub-prime market as some of it s just unusually high inventory that was very hard on home owners that where using their homes as source of income for years and then one year that equity failed … (0 comments)
