Wordless Wednesday (almost!): The Eyes Have It! - 10/21/09 01:32 PM

As I was taking pictures of nearby horses, this colt followed me, not so much by getting closer to me but he continued looking at me with his eyes! How beautiful he is! We made eye contact several more times and I finally took a picture of him looking directly at me! I still wonder what he was thinking?!
I would have loved to touch him and rub my hand along his muzzle but his mother was closeby and that may have been another story altogether!

Against all odds by the critics due to off-season management changes and player tradeoffs, the Denver Broncos are now 6-0 after the Monday Night Football game!
The Chargers scored first with a field goal and then Bronco Eddie Royal took the ball all the way down the field to the endzone that resulted in a 93 yard touchdown return. Score now 7-3.
The Chargers scored next with a touchdown. 7-10 and the Broncos kicked a field goal to tie the game. 10-10
Eddie Royal struck again with a 71-yard punt return that put Denver up 17-10.

Develop a Business Plan. Include short-term as well as long-term goals.  It doesn't have to be extraordinary and complicated. Even if it's as simple as writing down 2 listings and 2 closings per month.
Keep it Simple: I learned this in college. Do not overcomplicate things by adding too many duties and responsibilities to your list. If you take on too many things, it may be self-defeating and disappointing.

Some beautiful faces smiling back at me! I have to admit since my surgery I have been somewhat confined to being indoors while recovering but imagine my surprise when I walked outside this morning and was greeted by Mother Nature and her many children!
Most of our flowers have gone dormant due to falling temperatures during the night but these are thriving!
What a fabulous gift I received today!

Hiway started playing with her bean bag tiger and it reminded me of the Buck Owens song "I Gotta Tiger by the Tail."
Do you remember Hee Haw?
It was one of my favorite shows growing up and I was lucky because my dad liked to watch it as well!
Some of country music's greatest musicians were featured on the show, not to mention the many laughs that were rolled out consistently.
I especially loved Kornfield Kounty when Roy Clark and Buck Owens would crack themselves up before they even told the joke! That made me laugh more than the joke itself!

The last time I noticed was July 7 when there were 151,728 members...and now it reads 161,980, as of today.
I am impressed to see the numbers have continued to climb at a rapid pace!

UAR Sales Statistics for Washington County Utah For Past 3 Years - 10/15/09 12:44 PM

According to the Utah Association of Realtors, Washington County, Utah has seen a steady decline in homes prices SOLD. (This includes Condominiums as well.) The figures reflect sales reported by the area's Multiple Listing Service.
Average Sales Price for 2006: $337,913
Average Sales Price for 2007: $318,047
Average Sales Price for 2008: $284,537

The Skycoaster ride at Lagoon starts at 143 feet in the air and mimics skydiving and hang gliding. My husband and son were harnessed and then connected to the flight support cables. When given the signal, the flyers pull the rip cord, releasing them from the launch cable and rapidly swing towards the ground at speeds reaching up to 80 mph! The overall feeling is similar to that of swooping along the ground in a hang glider, or that of skydiving.

IHC hospitals outline new visiting policies for flu season - 10/13/09 04:26 PM

 
In order to offset the spread of H1N1 or seasonal flu to patients in hospitals, Intermountain Healthcare announced stricter visitation policies.
According to the new rules:
Children under 14 years of age are not allowed in Intermountain Healthcare hospitals during the flu season unless they actually are patients Only 2 visitors at a time in a patient's room Patients with cold or flu symptoms will be required to wear a mask and wash hands frequently The Utah Hospital Association recommended the changes in order to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus and the  seasonal flu.

It seems that our household is a safe haven for lost, discarded and abandoned animals.
This is Dixie the Cat and my son. At football practice one evening, Sebastian saw movement under a pine tree in the park. Once practice was over, he went to see what it could possibly be.
To his surprise, it was small kitten! And this kitten wanted-to-play-and-they-did! By the time my husband arrived to pick him up, Sebastian had decided we needed to bring this baby home, of course, with our permission.

The Broncos are 5-0! The last time they were 5-0 was in 1998 and they won the Superbowl!!!
I became a fan when: 1975, when I saw a VW Bug that was painted orange and blue in honor of the Broncos!
Reasons I like Denver Broncos: The players aren't spoiled, overpaid athlete prima donnas. It is considered an honor to play for the Broncos and players are accountable for their actions on/off the field. (That is my opinion and I own it!) After their back-to-back Superbowl wins, they were the team to beat!

One of our favorite family places to go fishing & camping is Otter Creek Reservoir in Antimony, Utah. When we finish for the the day, the boys LOVE jumping off the boat and taking a swim, always racing each other back! The temperature of the water is usually around 60 degrees and they just relish it with shrieks of laughter and splashing each other!
It's great fun...even if you are just watching!
