Family First. It's all related!

From a young age, I learned of loyalty in relationships, which is why family always come first in life, whether challenging through adversity, a testing of faith or celebrating happy occasions.

Though miles may separate some of us, they always and will remain close to my heart. Social media has become an important part of keeping in touch and sharing special moments with them.

Some people say there is no loyalty in business relationships any more. I adamantly disagree. If that was true, I'd be out of business. Just recently, another referral came in from our long-time mechanic.

So, in honor of family, sincere business … (3 comments)

Business Practices and Educational Opportunities!

When I saw Anna Banana's August Challenge, ActiveRain August Challenge - BEST - Business Practices, it led me back to the beginning of this real estate journey. Though setbacks have occurred along the way, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my lifetime!

#1 - Business Practice - Learning
When I took the test to become a REALTOR, more education was necessary to be effective. Most of the information was quickly brushed past. I thought more real life transaction scenarios were needed in the curriculum.

The old adage, "Fake it, 'till you Make it!" felt trifling and a little intimidating. So, instead of allowing it to take hold,  I dug … (8 comments)

Push through that Discomfort Zone!

After recently experiencing a very difficult transaction with little communication from the other side and multiple lender extensions, this past post came to mind. While unable to control other people's lack of action, I supported my client's best interests to a successful outcome.

Ever feel like throwing your hands up in surrender when everything goes sideways? The pressure mounting minute-to-minute, hour-by-hour when you're diligently working toward critical deadlines?

When giving up seems like a viable option...Put those virtual shoulder pads on and push ahead through the discomfort zone! Clients expect favorable results and depend on you to accomplish the goals.

Whatever you do, hold it together, keep calm … (6 comments)

Never use the password: PASSWORD

Recently, I sat in on a Washington County Board of REALTORS meeting highlighting a speaker who gave some advice on avoiding online fraud, scams and hacking. He passed along some of the Do's and Don'ts of keeping sensitive information safe.

Here are some results:

A broken clock is right twice a day.

After signing a legal, binding contract, one cannot simply 'change their mind' once deadlines have passed without paying a price.

The "I'm correct" and "You're wrong" mentality is gaining ground due to power struggles among buyers and sellers.

Communication can break down in any situation when canceling a contract, or perceiving a slight or when negotiations stall.

Both parties, of course, can agree to mediate, working out details on how to proceed before taking the dispute to the court of law.

Court can be a costly and emotional journey with one party prevailing over the other. The desire to be justified often overtakes logic in a … (16 comments)

Another Home SOLD at Silver Reef Highlands in Leeds Utah!

My clients purchased a home site several years ago, anticipating retiring from their jobs to build their forever home in southern Utah. After recommending three builders, meeting with each one and much discussion, they chose American Heritage Homes for the job.

Both sides agreed on price, floorplan, size, amenities, terms and conditions. The plans were sent in for approval and soon the building process was set in motion. Silver Reef Highlands has a proactive Homeowner's Association that determines size of home, plant materials and colors.

Their home is 3,016 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, 3 car … (3 comments)
