It's simple! Join a social media group and inject some humor. I recently posted a photo I took of some cucumbers we pulled from our home garden and added a funny caption. Before I knew it, I had the attention of almost 250 people who, not only liked it but LOL!
Meet Larry, Moe and Curly…whoop, whoop, whoop!
This is powerful stuff! People like people like them and by posting this photo, not only did it show that I enjoy gardening but also have a sense of humor. Social media is about connecting with (13 comments)
Being a real estate agent is, at times, a humbling experience and rightfully so.
Arrogance has no place is this profession whatsoever and a huge ego puts clients in second position, not exactly the ideal place to be in a transaction. Our duties and responsibilities are to put our clients needs and wants above our own. That is the way I see it and the rest follows.
Does everyone always play fair? Not every time and we cannot control the actions of others, only our own. Respect for our clients shows in our work ethic, being prepared and the ability to help them (38 comments)
Some people invest in the rumor mill and can't wait to find their next unsuspecting audience. Hearsay and gossip can hurt people and create an energy sucking, negative environment.
As real estate agents, we must be respectful of peers, fellow agents and clients. It's most important to: Maintain professionalism in the workplace Refrain from delivering erroneous information Allow the Code of Ethics be your guide every day Surround yourself with positive, motivated people Avoid negative discussions that put others in a bad light Those who give in to the practice of passing on information (15 comments)
Motivational Monday: Is your best good enough? While it is impossible to be all things to all people, you can find out who you are and allow that be your guide. It is imperative to discover your strengths and use them to: Set priorities Make decisions Have better relationships Accept your own uniqueness Achieve personal and professional success Let go of comparing yourself to others and to the things that have limited you in the past. Realize that you can’t do it all but you can do your best. And that is good enough. It really is!
As we all sit down for a special meal today, let us give thanks to those in our presence that add meaning to our lives. From our parents and spouses to our children to brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, our pets and yes, even pigs, each play a role in the decisions we make everyday. As we go forward, may you all be blessed with good health, wealth and an abundance of joy! Merry Christmas! (28 comments)
This is the plain and simple truth! There is no secret to getting referrals from past clients and a recommendation is indeed the highest compliment you are able to get.
It means they: Will help you to become more successful Trust you with their good friends and family Are impressed with the service you provided Choose to praise your successful methods to others Will tout that you went above and beyond their expectations Guess who called me this week? A client who just closed on her new home -and- has some good friends that are planning (23 comments)
When you think of a backseat driver, thoughts typically take a negative turn...right?! Not in this case and I'll tell you why.
Most out-of-area clients come from referrals and I often will sit in the back seat while travelling to view properties.
This allows: The driver to pay attention to road conditions without unnecessary distractions A conversation with both clients rather than me talking straight ahead while behind the wheel Them to get to know the area better by driving and paying attention to the many areas that southern Utah provides It works well for everyone and (19 comments)
During the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon, the speaker recited a quote that spoke to me and inspired me to share with all of you. We have all been let down, hurt, confused, disappointed with relationships or by events in our lives but Mother Teresa puts everything in perspective:
“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten (20 comments)
