Someone asked me why is there so much new construction while many homes are just sitting empty. New home buyers are able to get what they want in a home rather than settling for something less than desirable such as a foreclosure.

A client of mine asked if 2nd homes were taxed differently than primary residences and I replied yes but didn't know the formula. I called the Washington County Assessor's office this morning and asked how 2nd homes are taxed compared to primary residence and I received this answer: Primary residences are taxed at 55% of their assessed value and second homes are assessed at 100% of their assessed value. You get a tax break if it is your primary residence. Utilize your assessor's office when you need answers to questions regarding taxes, they are a great resource! As I was taking pictures of nearby horses, this colt followed me, not so much by getting closer to me but he continued looking at me with his eyes! How beautiful he is! We made eye contact several more times and I finally took a picture of him looking directly at me! I still wonder what he was thinking?!
I would have loved to touch him and rub my hand along his muzzle but his mother was closeby and that may have been another story altogether!

I just noticed the membership numbers again.
The last time I noticed was July 7 when there were 151,728 members...and now it reads 161,980, as of today.
I am impressed to see the numbers have continued to climb at a rapid pace!
This means that Activerain has caught the attention of even more professionals out there who wish to be part of a great family!
Yippee! And I do mean that sincerely!

It's interesting how animals manage to find time to relax during their days while we tend to squeeze every waking moment in a frenzy to get as much done as possible.
How do you relax?
Is it reading, taking a nice brisk walk, meditation, going to the gym, taking an afternoon nap, driving to a place of reflection...blog?

Do you know a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon? Especially on a perfectly sunny, cool, with a slight breezey day? Our piglets always spent their time with each other, the more the better. One of their favorite places to nap was behind a gauzy sun screen that my husband put up for them. It created just enough shade to protect them from the sun and also provided privacy.
It wasn't uncommon for a few of them to actually sleep sitting up, like the one in the middle you see here! Happy Sunday to you all!

Thursday, September 24th marked the Dixie Sunshiner's Summer Trip to Cedar City, Utah to meet with President Michael T. Benson, have lunch, take a tour of the Southern Utah University and see Tuesdays with Morrie at the Randall L. Jones Memorial Theatre.

The 32nd Annual St. George Marathon is just a little over a week away! On October 3rd, 2009, approximately 7,200 participants will be at the starting line at 6:45 a.m. (wheelchairs at 6:40) with eager energy and dreams of winning or placing, or for some, just crossing over the finish line.

Hiway, our rescued kitty, was found right off the highway and was just a few weeks old when my husband brought her home. My husband is a die-hard NASCAR fan and when he turns on the races, Hiway jumps up and watches the cars race around the track!
Perhaps she likes the sound of engines racing or just the bright images of the cars as they move through the screen. Who really knows?
