A glorious end to the day!

An end that was impossible to ignore as I drove along Hiway 18 towards home. I strive to truly appreciate what is before me, to be forever thankful for the beautiful gifts that are presented every day. Life is the end result of  the choices we make and I wish to be a positive, motivating force.
Why be anything less?

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Come on in, the water's fine!

If you're a duck, that is!
Southern Utah temperatures have been hovering in the 70s as Spring begins to show itself.  It's refreshing and lends promise to another season as the fruit trees are blooming in anticipation of the honey bee's visits to each flower, one to the other to the other...while the ducks have taken to water once again to frollick, feed or just enjoy the moment.
They sure know how to get the most out of southern Utah living!

Friday's Fotos: Where the red and white meet the blue!

Another cold weather pattern created a fast moving storm that blew through the area, covering the ground with snow from the red cliffs in Snow Canyon State Park, 17 miles to the north of St. George, Utah, clear to the Utah Mountain range. What a beautiful sight for miles and miles!
As we made it to the St. George City floor, there was no snow, just a gorgeous winter wonderland all around and an amazing photo opportunity! Then it quickly melted.

Luminous skies cast off billowing clouds inviting the warmth of the sun for a short stay as mist turns to rain. Southern Utah has just begun the monsoon season, offering much needed moisture that promises to nurture the high desert plant material readying all for spring.
 
As I descend toward the St. George area, Snow Canyon State Park reminds me of the natural beauty that exists everyday, rain or shine in southern Utah!
 
Wednesday is looking promising! Happy day!

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Impending storm or Calm after the storm?

Coming or going? That is the question.
Dark, ominous clouds roiling across the sky, throwing sheets in its wake, while sunshine and surging clouds interrupt the storm, impeding its process.
- OR-
Sunshine indeterminately suspended as powerful thunder claps and lightening began dousing the atmosphere with dark inflection.
So, what are your thoughts, before or after?

As we started home from the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, the roads were dry and less congested as they were on the trip to Salt Lake City the previous Wednesday.
A couple of hours into the drive, (it's a 300 mile trip) my husband says, "It's snowing."
Automatically I started gearing up for what lies ahead and sure enough, we are soon...
going 40 m.p.h. down the highway following a looooong line of cars and trucks visibility is poor to none I-am-whiteknuckling-it despite my husband saying "It's okay, I got it." I started thinking...There's No Place Like Home! There's No Place Like Home! It … (23 comments)
