Though the snow continued to fall due to an arctic front, residents joined in the frolic and FUN that Main Street businesses provided during the evening. From sweet treats, carolling, music on the band stand, to the Polar Express train that caused giggling and all out laughs from it's passengers, everyone was feeling the spirit of the season!

Dickens' Christmas Festival 2012 / Things To Do in the St. George, Utah area / Dixie Center As far back as I can remember, Dickens' Christmas Festival has always been a local yearly November / December event that we enjoyed as a family. Our two sons were enthralled with the sights, sounds and smells that penetrated every space within the Dixie Center walls when they were young. From the home-style candies, to breads to cakes, the gag gifts and the musical merriment that emanated throughout the narrow, vendor-filled streets, there is always something for everyone to enjoy!

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Pondering...
While driving through the Sun Country Meadows Townhomes community in St. George, Utah, my attention was drawn to the water feature until a black neck swan swam into sight. As he neared the edge of the water, I realized he was quite an unusual bird with the bright red lob on it's beak, black neck and head and ultra-white body!
He was pondering as I was just wandering and then wondering how such a creature was designed?
Apparently he earns his keep by greeting all passersby and is very good at what he does.

Wrapped with red ribbons and twinkling lights, these hanging wreaths were a warm welcome when stepping inside the Dixie Center. The Christmas muzak put a little skip in my step on the way to help wrap toys and clothes for Coins for Kids, a non-profit charitable organization in Washington County, Utah that provides disadvantaged children with gifts and toys under the tree for Christmas morning.
I should have Cheery-O's for breakfast more often!

And I am so, so proud of the young man that he has become! Kind, generous and with a heart of gold is how others describe him. With a touch of humor that can lighten any mood and keeps me laughing through tears at times.
Sebastian will graduate from Dixie High School in two days and will travel to Pennsylvania to take a job shortly after. It will be the first time he has been away from home for more than a weekend … (31 comments)
