selling real estate in st petersburg: Looking for a Saint Petersburg Realtor to sell your property? - 01/29/09 01:21 PM
Looking for a Saint Petersburg Realtor to sell your property?
In today's Real Estate market it is more important than ever to find the right real estate agent. Not all Realtors are the same, please keep this in mind.
You need someone that know your neighborhood and has an aggressive and creative marketing plan. Selling your home or condo in this market can be challening.
Please keep in mind that more than 80% of all home buyers start their search on the internet. Knowing this, it has become very easy to pick a good agent. Simply Google their name.
That is right

selling real estate in st petersburg: Is Real Estate a good investment? - 10/08/08 02:58 AM
Would love to know what you think.
We always answered this question with YES,                                                                                    than the market crashed and all of a sudden people would say NO
So, what are we saying today?
My answer is still YES
What do you think?
How do you answer this question?
What should people buy and what should they stay away from?
Are there areas that are really "HOT" right now?
Does location still matter or is it all about price?

Do we Realtors have a positive outlook for the Real Estate market?

selling real estate in st petersburg: The grass is always greener on the other side - 10/07/08 09:22 AM
Or isn't it? A lot of sellers here in Saint Pete somehow manage to find a Realtor that will list their property way over market value. The Realtor invests a lot of time, money and energy in this listing, but it will never sell. So, six months go by, the seller is very unhappy, the Realtor is frustrated and the listing agreement is canceled. Mr. Seller goes and finds another Realtor and lists again. So, what do you think? Will the grass be greener on the other side? Will the next Realtor get the house sold? In today's market and I can not … (3 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Should you own your home? What kind of question is this? - 10/06/08 02:19 AM
I just read an article in the Wall Street Journal
Not everybody should own a home.
and it started with
Maybe only a friendly foreigner could say this. But America needs to realize

This is what I have to say in response
There is a lot of truth to what you are saying, but please take it from another friendly foreigner; it is not the whole truth.  I am German and therefore I was brought up with different values (if you want something you have to save money for it before you can buy it, a credit card or … (5 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: How to stand out in a crowd of Realtors? Use your voice mail! - 10/03/08 07:52 AM
I just read a great post by Jason Crouch  about doing the best you can and being available for your clients and giving them information so they can educated decisions and so on.
I believe this is the norm especially for people here on Active Rain; I have the feeling that we all go the extra mile.  Anyway, this post inspired me to think about  "What do I do to stand out"
One of the little things is my Voice mail recording.
I try to answer the phone whenever I can, but sometimes, I just can't.
I hate voice mails and … (8 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Size does matter - 10/02/08 07:05 AM
I do not know if you see the same in your market area, but what I have seen here in St. Petersburg lately is probably reflecting the overall economy. It is amazing; just a few years ago everything needed to have as many sf as possible. Now we see a trend that indicates that people take a small 3 bedroom over a big 2 bed room condo. Even if the price per sf. is higher in the 3 bedroom condo than the 2 bedroom condo.
The best example in our area is the Silver Sands Condo complex in St. Pete Beach.

selling real estate in st petersburg: What ever happen to Saffron's? The wonderful restaurant on Park Street in Saint Petersburg Tampabay. - 09/21/08 02:55 PM
I asked a lot of people but nobody knew. I use to get their newsletter, but somehow about a year ago it stopped, I heard they were moving but never found out where they are moving to.

Well, long story short, I missed their food and the charming atmosphere and one day I drove by the old place and saw that the sign was still up with a website address.
http://www.saffronscuisine.com   phone number is 727 744 0864
Long story short, as far as I could find out, they do not have a new restaurant in a different location, but … (2 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Coupons at office depot in St. Pete - 09/21/08 02:45 PM
I was never a big fan of office depot, but hey you need to buy your supplies somewhere and office depot is the closes store from my house here on Treasure Island and from my office on Madeira beach. Most of the time it is ok, but yesterday they really got to me.
I was on a "clearing out" mission and I gathered all the empty toner and laser cartridges we had in the office, stuck them in my car and off I went to office depot. You see, I am one of the people that tries to be organized (not … (0 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Carwash in Treasure Island Florida - 09/21/08 02:41 PM
I love my Treasure Island, like I have said so many times before, you can find everything you need here in Treasure Island even a coin car wash. $1,50 and 5 minutes later you car will shine again.

Invest another 75 cents and 2 more minutes and you car will smell wonderful. Now if you want to go all the way and also get the sand off the seats and floor it will cost you another 75 cents and 3 minutes. But think about this $3 and 10 minutes and your car looks and smells like brand new. If I … (0 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Earth to Government - 09/20/08 09:46 AM
This one is short, but not so sweet. Nearly one trillion dollars (I get dizzy by all the zeros)
To "keep the economy going" to "save" the economy, to help Wall Street.
Bail out (think about this word) Can someone please explain this to me?
When I first heard about this a few days ago my first thought was  "you got to be kidding me"  Why would any tax payer agree to this? Do we realize how much money this is?
Why "bail out" (again, think about the word, they are not saying FIX) a system that is obviously not working … (5 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Real Estate news for Pinellas County - 09/20/08 04:29 AM
Newsletter from your Realtor
Sorry guys, I am a little late with my newsletter this month. (so busy) But here it it.
How does the saying go? Numbers don't lie?
The statistics have caught up with what we are saying for the last few months. Sales of both existing single-family homes and condos improved in the second quarter compared to first quarter 2008, according to FAR's latest housing data. A total of 35,178 existing homes sold statewide in 2Q 2008, up 38.2 percent over 1Q 2008.
Are you sitting down?     This number speaks for itself. Currently in the Pinellas market, … (1 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Just when you think you know it all - 09/19/08 12:05 AM
Just when you think you made the deal.
This Real Estate market is very challenging to say the least. We have been doing very good compared to most companies in our area, but the time and energy that we spend on each deal is just unbelievable. Back in the "good old day" you would make an offer go back and forth once or twice and reach an agreement, get the signature, check on a few things and go to closing. OK. Each deal had one or two little problems, but you got them solved.
Now, it is a different story in … (1 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: To all those people who speak a second language - 09/14/08 02:14 AM
Active Rain is working great for me to find buyers and sellers here in St Petersburg Florida, but there is one group that I just have a hard time reaching and these are German buyers and sellers. I am German and speak the language and I am a Realtor.
Most Germans that come here to buy a second home or have property here in St. Pete do not speak the language too well and therefore will never read my "English posts" Also, the Germans search on Google.de not Google.com.
So, here are my questions or questions
Does active rain allow to … (0 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: But my friend the Realtor told me. . . - 09/10/08 04:58 PM
How many times have you heard this?  What is your reaction? What is your story?
Sometimes I just want to say, well if your friend the Realtor is doing such a great job and knows it all, why are you talking to me?
But than again, who do you trust if not your friends. I do not know how it is in your part of the country, but here in St. Petersburg we hear this sentence a lot. Everybody has a friend that is a Realtor or real Estate agent. Naturally when it comes to buying or selling property you will turn … (0 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: I am my listing presentation - 09/10/08 04:25 PM
I know that sound weird or strange or. . . whatever you want to call it.
Over the years I have done a lot of great listing presentation, hard copies, slide shows etc. I went to every seminar here in St. Petersburg and Tampabay, I search the web and read lots of books on listing presentations. Well, I have done away with it all. Now, all I take to a listing appointment is my handbag. After spending a lot of hours and energy and money on listing presentations and market reports of Saint Petersburg and statistics, I realized that it is … (0 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Treasure Island, you don't dance in the morning? - 08/28/08 08:56 AM
What are you thinking?!  It is a must on a rainy day! Do you wake up to a nasty beeping alarm or to your favorite song? A song that reminds you of good times with high energy and lots of fun.
If you have not already done this, just give it a try. Choose a few songs, a slow romantic song, a heavy metal song and a disco song. (and feel the difference) When you wake up to music instead of the nasty alarm ring, you will have a different start to the day.
On some days when I wake up … (9 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Treasure Island, What do you eat first? - 08/28/08 12:35 AM
I used to eat the "spinach" first, (that's how I was brought up) the stuff on your plate they you really do not like too much, than I ate the rest. Well I have changed this a long long time ago, now I eat the nice stuff first and by the time I come to the spinach I might not be hungry anymore and simply leave it on the plate. What has that got to do with Real Estate? Well, I do the same in my job, when I wake up in the morning I start with all the things I … (10 comments)

selling real estate in st petersburg: Me? Behind??? Can I blame it on Active Rain or the internet in general? - 08/27/08 09:58 AM
No, I did not spend the whole day knocking on neighbors doors to get their old magazines. These are all mine. . .
It is funny how you change your habits, but at the same time you do not change them. This is my "To read" pile and it has grown and grown and grown. I get 3 or 4 realtor magazines every week and I used to read them all, but somehow, without realizing it, I get all my newest Real Estate information online and I have not touched Realtor magazines in ages. So I obviously changed the way I … (8 comments)
