Visiting Vet in Charlotte NC - 05/21/08 03:31 PM
For pet owners relocating across town or from across the country, finding a vet in the new area is most definitely a priority and consideration. I've recently found The Visiting Vet, and have been absolutely thrilled with both Dr. Martineau and the service she provides. We have cats, and they don't really enjoy being packed into a carrier, driven in the car and then taken to the vet's office. They cry and shake, are overwhelmed with the foreign sights, sounds and other animals, coming home thoroughly exhausted. I'd heard of the mobile vet services before but we never

Price Is Not the Only Factor In An Offer - 05/16/08 01:46 PM
Sure, price is important when placing or receiving an offer to purchase a home, but it is most definitely not the only factor. Our NC Offer to Purchase and Contract is currently eight pages long. Eight pages of attorney drafted, NC Bar Association and NC Association of Realtors® approved language. And that doesn't include any of the available addendums. Seems to me, if price were the only factor in an offer, we could probably pare down those eight pages and save some trees. Thing is, price is not the only factor, and the highest offer price is not always the

Charlotte NC Homes - Madison Park Market Activity 5.12.08 - 05/12/08 01:14 PM
Since real estate is local it's helpful to compare activity on a localized basis. When considering buying or selling a home, it doesn't matter what an area across town is doing as far as sales activity. The relevant sales are in the same neighborhood. Madison Park is a neighborhood of single family homes located between South Blvd and Park Rd, convenient to Uptown Charlotte, the new Light rail line and just minutes from South Park. Homes were built in the 1950's and 1960's. View Larger Map Madison Park Activity Report 5.12.08 The biggest difference showed up in March of 2008, with

Charlotte NC Homes - Olde Providence Market Activity 5.8.08 - 05/08/08 03:11 PM
Since real estate is local it's helpful to compare activity on a localized basis. When considering buying or selling a home, it doesn't matter what an area across town is doing as far as sales activity. The relevant sales are in the same neighborhood. Olde Providence is located in the heart of South Charlotte, features mature trees, sidewalks, winding streets and single family homes. Styles include ranch, split level, and two story homes built in the 1960's and 1970's. Market Activity Report-Olde Providence 5.8.08 Compared to 2007's activity, Olde Providence has seen only one fewer closed listing and as the chart illustrates,

Is Now A Good Time To Buy? It Depends - 05/08/08 11:17 AM
The question really should be, is now a good time for you to buy? The answer won't be the same for everyone. The popular question of the "right" time to buy is (in my opinion) way too vague and misapplied. There's no way that there's ever a right time for everyone to buy a house. People have different circumstances, goals, needs and situations that are unique to them. The answer to when the right time (if ever) to buy a house is personal, NOT generic. Some questions to ask yourself: -How long do you plan on staying in this area? -Are you ok

Unfamiliar Territory Can Be Intimidating - 05/02/08 01:13 PM
Ever walk into someplace you'd never been or had only visited once or twice and realize you're unfamiliar with the territory? It can be very daunting and intimidating to find yourself in a place where you're unsure of the layout. You know what you're looking for but haven't a clue where to start. Recently I found myself at a local baby and children's store. I don't have kids yet so the only time I visit the store is when a friend is having a baby and I need a gift. So I have the registry, and it's pages of stuff, but I
