Years ago after one of my first successful closings with a buyer I received a very kind and thoughtful handwritten note from the listing agent.  She was a long time Charlotte area real estate veteran and had been an absolute delight during the transaction (and so very interesting to talk with about her experiences over the years!).

Got a call last night around 7:30pm.  Yes, on a Sunday evening at the end of a holiday weekend.  I happened to have my phone with me and had worked yesterday so no big deal, I answered it.
The caller said he'd been trying to locate a particular Charlotte home for sale and it wasn't where the map had indicated.  He gave me the address and I explained that was not a listing of mine but I could look into it and see what information I could find.

Christmas Snow in Charlotte NC - 12/26/10 12:59 PM
While it didn't snow here in Charlotte during the daylight hours on Christmas, after sunset the snow did arrive and continued into the next morning creating a picture perfect morning landscape! 
It's been quite a while since we've seen a decent snowfall here in Charlotte NC and the fact that this one arrived on Christmas made it even more special.  As with most "southern" snows, the roads may be tricky for a day or so but more than likely we'll be back in the 50's or 60's later this week.  For now though.....it's a winter wonderland outside!!!

Super Easy and Delicious Fudge Recipe - 12/23/10 01:58 PM
With 5 ingredients and less than 10 minutes to make (aside from the time to chill) this fudge is super easy, SO yummy and a great holiday recipe too!!!!
The original recipe is Giada De Laurentiis' Cinnamon Chocolate Fudge
The basics are to combine sweetened condensed milk, dark chocolate, vanilla, butter and cinnamon then melt together over a double boiler, pour into a baking dish and refrigerate.
When I made it I omitted the cinnamon and added a teaspoon or so of almond extract then added some sliced almonds after it was all melted.

The new listing and sold activity was lower than the same time a year ago while under contract activity was nearly equal and has actually been pretty steady for the past few months with around 85-90 under contract listings per month.

The 83 closed home sales in south Charlotte for November 2010 had an average sales price of $467,046.
Since November of 2009 the overall average sales price for single family homes in south Charlotte has been $465,100.

Ever seen the Allstate commercials with "Mr Mayhem"?  They're well done, creative and amusing.  I happen to like their commercials. I also happen to be an Allstate customer - for now.
Though I think their commercials are great, there's no amount of style, catchy slogans or great advertising that can make up for a lack of substance when it comes to any service business (including real estate). 
How customers are treated, how valued they feel, the SERVICE aspect of any customer oriented business is huge and I don't care how great or slick your promotions or image is....without substance that doesn't mean a thing … (8 comments)

After an increasing supply of homes for sale into the Fall of 2010, Landen Meadows neighborhood real estate inventory has been falling recently and is lower than the same time last year.

I've been telling myself for two weeks it's no big deal we've gotten 0 holiday decorating done, still plenty of time.  Yeah, now that it's December 10th I think that reasoning is outdated so in between my work schedule and my husbands this weekend, we'll be (finally) decorating the house and will actually have some holiday decor to go along with the freezing weather here in Charlotte lately :)

So I recently stopped in at the Jewelology store in Charlotte's Park Towne Village Shopping Center and let me say, this place ROCKS!
