River Riders, the Greenwell Foundation's inclusive and accessible kayaking program, opens for the season on April 1, 2009.  River Riders offers kayak rentals, lessons, summer camps, and guided trips on the Patuxent River.
Rentals, lessons, trips and kayak camp are open to people of all abilities.  River Riders has a wheelchair accessible (ADA-compliant) floating kayak and canoe launch.  The launch is open to the public during regular park hours (sunrise to sunset)  River Riders is in session from April 1 through October.

The St. Mary's County Commission on the Environment's (COE) "Living Green Expo" is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The expo will feature display booths from environmental organizations and businesses. The expo will also feature several door prizes (each over a $75.00 value) and several speakers on environmental issues. Coffee and a small lunch will be available on a first come first serve basis.
