Is FHA considering raising the minimum down payment? - 05/07/10 07:03 PM
House Financial Service Committee defeated a proposal sponsored by Scott Garrett (R-NJ) that would have increased the FHA loans minimum down payment requirement from 3.5% to 5%.  The proposal also would have not allowed sellers to help pay for any of the buyers closing costs.  The FHA has already reduced the amount of closing costs a seller can give the buyer from 6% to 3%.  If this proposal would have passed it would have made it even more difficult for people to buy homes.  Home buyers would need a lot more money to buy a home.Right now many people are using … (2 comments)
