HAFA: What does this mean for me? If you find you think you are a distressed property owner and are trying to find a way to not go to foreclosure, then this might be your answer. There are qualifications required to be accepted into this new government program which can stream line the short sale process. This process will make it easier for a buyer to go forward on making offers for these properties. Historically a short sale offer can take as much as a year to hear back from a lender for an approval on an offer. Many buyers will (1 comments)

There are things a buyer needs to be aware of when it comes to purchasing a distressed property.
With a short sale the offer is presented to the owner who might (3 comments)
real estate in maine: Is it still a buyer's market? - 10/26/08 08:41 AM
Buyers have much to choose from and the offers are being made. There are several things a buyer can do to help them know if the property they are making an offer on is the one they will get. Make sure to know exactly what you can afford. Even though you might be pre qualified for a certain amount, you need to consider your monthly costs beyond those that are set on a regular basis. Gas for your vehicles, food, heating fuel, medical costs, auto maintenance, etc. You don't want to get in over your head. Remember the home which is (0 comments)
