How to Improve Relationships with Prospects and Clients on the Web - 06/27/07 09:06 AM
This morning I got an email from a man in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.  (He had just purchased my Listing Presentation Book and wanted to say "thanks".)  Vietnam.  I got an email from Vietnam.  I think that's just amazing.
And then I realized that last month I spent over an hour on the phone with a friend of mine in Australia whom I've never met.  We got connected through a mutual friend whom I have also never met.  She and I just shared similar interests and so made a connection that turned into a business partnership.  Then I realized that … (4 comments)

Social Networking vs. Community - 06/26/07 05:00 PM
I just read a blog asking about social networking and it made me think.  A few years ago "social networking" meant going out to lunch with other agents or attending a party, networking event or class.  But today, its definition has been reduced to what online activities we do to connect with others.  That's all well and fine, but here's my question:
How much of today's online "social networking" is really driven by a sense of isolation and need for connection to fellow human beings?  Personally, I think we're starved as a culture for connection, healthy physical touch, and acceptance.

The Silent Stalker - 06/26/07 04:42 PM
It's everywhere.  You can't see it, you can't put your finger on it, but it stalks you every day and night.  It's there when you go to sleep and when you wake in the morning.  It's there when you make your first call in the morning, when you break for lunch, and when you finish up for the day.  It's there when you kiss your kids and when you turn on the TV and turn off your brain for the evening.  What is it?  Stress.
Having just come back from a long-needed vacation I can tell you that you just don't know … (1 comments)

Back From Vacation - No, Really, I am - 06/25/07 02:23 PM
Some of you may note that I was due back from vacation on the 21st.  Well, here it is the 25th and I've just gotten back.  You see the 21st came and I just couldn't bring myself to go home yet.  I knew I wasn't done.  I was still crispy around the edges.  So I stopped in at a friend's house on the way home and spent the weekend there.  Since he was gone for the weekend, it meant I had the place to myself - a lovely little place on the Connecticut shoreline that allowed me to sit and read … (2 comments)

Need Advice About Vendors - 06/05/07 08:53 AM
I've been looking into recommending some vendors and possibly cross-promoting with them.  Thought I would ask you lovely people here about your experience with those vendors first.
This first one is LandVoice (formerly Warnock's By Owner).  Has anyone purchased any of their programs and/or attended any of their teleseminars/workshops?  If so, what did you think of what they had to offer?
The second one is Real Estate Promoter websites.  I don't know anything about these guys, I found them off of the LandVoice site.  But they promise a return of 12-18% conversion on the site (an astronomical figure by web standards).  Does anyone … (3 comments)
