CNN Entertainment reports that several costumed characters who pose with tourists on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame (outside Grauman's Chinese Theater) have been arrested. The Los Angeles Police department confirmed that Batman was arrested on Wednesday, following the arrest of Spiderman, Cat Woman and several others. "It's part of a police crackdown on unlicensed costumed characters who pose for photos with tourists near Grauman's Chinese Theater while hoping for -- but not demanding -- small tips." What about Farrah Fawcett and Bea Arthur in the "In Memoriam" tribute to well known Hollywood Stars? I think the 2010 Academy Award Production was an excellent show and I congratulate Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin for the terrific job they did as the hosts. I also salute all the winners in the various categories. Of special note (I think) was Kathryn Bigelow for being the first woman to win the "Best Director" for "The Hurt Locker". In a recent list of "Best Cities for Singles" published by Forbes.com, Los Angeles ranked 16th out of 40 Cities considered. I was not too surprised, considering the vaste spread-out nature of the City - But I was curious to read which Cities took the top three places. First Place: Atlanta - Second Place: San Francisco - Third Place: Dallas Atlanta earned the top slot because of its nightlife, relatively high number of singles and sizzling job growth. I heard the sad news today that Estelle Getty died around 5:30 a.m. this morning at her Hollywood Boulevard home in Los Angeles. She was 84. Estelle Getty played Sophia Petrillo on TV's "The Golden Girls" for which she won an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award. "The Golden Girls", all four of them (Blanche, Dorothy, Rose & Sophia) were brilliant. Their chemistry and timing was superb. Blanche:I treat my body like a temple.
