oak creek: Snow Day in Upper Marlboro MD
- 12/19/09 06:47 AM
This is what it looks like in Upper Marlboro, MD today. When I measured the snow on my lawn earlier today it was 13 inches and it has continued to snow steadily since. This is the first big snow we have seen in this area since 2003.
Being from Jamaica originally, I can't help but be in complete awe when it snows and I am always taken aback by the sheer beauty of it. Of course, the beauty wanes a bit when it's time to shovel the driveway (good thing I have my husband because it would take me weeks to

oak creek: Pentagon Memorial - A Must See!
- 07/25/09 04:09 AM
Last week my mother, aunt, and I went to see the Pentagon Memorial to the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Those of you who know me know that 9/11 was intensely personal for me because I lost my best friend, Angie Houtz that day. Seeing her name on one of the benches was intensely jolting, even though I knew it would be there.
The Pentagon Memorial consists of benches organized by year of birth. Each person who died at the site has a bench with a reflecting pool beneath it. We went in the late evening but I can only

I took these pictures with my camera phone on a random warm day in the middle of February. There were several holes where there were no homes in sight. In many locations on the course the feeling was so incredibly peaceful that I actually forgot that I was just outside of Washington, DC.
If you would like to learn more about this gorgeous Oak Creek community in Upper Marlboro, MD give me a call. I'd be happy to help you navigate the many available builders and floor plans.

Today was one of those glorious days in the Winter that encourages everyone to get outdoors. 60 degrees in February is heaven. My husband, an avid golfer, decided that he wanted to get out and play today. We live on Oak Creek golf course and I have never seen the entire course.
I decided that I would drive the cart and keep score. The views were stunning. I had no idea just how truly beautiful this Oak Creek community is.

The train rides through a small farm where there are cows, donkeys, ducks, and llamas. There is a trail that leads to this farm as well so that you can spend more time observing
oak creek: NV Homes delivers a good product.
- 07/11/08 10:35 AM
We recently purchased a new home from NV Homes in Maryland. I have been very impressed with the quality of the product that was delivered. The home includes many features that contribute to a luxurious feel including crown moulding & chair railing, granite counters, hardwood floors & ceramic tiles, stainless steel appliances, and open floor plans.
A major contributor to our positive experience with NV was our sales rep, Marcus Brown. Whenever a problem arose Marcus was always available to answer any questions and to help guide us through the process. He always made us feel that our concerns were legitimate
oak creek: Why you should use a real estate agent when purchasing a new home.
- 06/09/08 01:44 PM
The question is, Do you really need a real estate agent when you're buying a new home? The answer, an emphatic yes!!!!
Last year my husband and I decided we wanted to purchase a new home. I knew it would be an easy task. I would just drive into that community I pass all the time, pick out what I want and they would start building.
Of course, life is not that simple. Turns out I didn't like any of the available floor plans in my price range. I was left trying to figure out where to go next. A little research
