It is amazing how many wonderful homes are available for sale in Prince George's County, MD that are listed for $100,000 or less.
A few years ago it was unheard of to find homes under $100,000 anywhere in the DC area. Even the smallest condos were selling above $100,000.
These incredible prices coupled with low interest rates make this a perfect time to buy your first home or investment property.
Prince George's County, MD is one of many regions where it is actually more expensive to rent than to purchase many homes.

The 2011-2012 property tax assessments are out for PG County and a large percentage of the county has seen their property taxes reduced.
Check your current property tax assessment. You can search by address or by account number.
In many instances, the property taxes listed in the MLS are not the current values.

Southern Maryland has a long history of tobacco farming. Tobacco barns are structures that were used in the process of air-curing tobacco.
In the early 2000s Maryland instituted programs to discourage tobacco growth. This has left many tobacco barns throughout the region that are no longer being utilized.
I first became fascinated by these tobacco barns when watching my husband play golf on Oak Creek Golf course in Upper Marlboro, MD. The golf course cart path actually runs directly through one of these historic structures.
