Roma's Pizza in Bethalto, IL has definitely been the hottest place to go for pizza for almost 40 years now.
It all started in the early 70's when the Pizzo family decided to move to America from their hometown of Palermo, Sicily after a recession had taken its toll on their restaurant business there.
The story is when they arrived in New York, they dialed an operator in St. Louis and asked her where would be a good town to open up a pizzeria. She happened to be from Bethalto, and she highly recommended our small town. As … (0 comments)

Weather Vane Ice Cream in Bethalto, IL is a very happening place on a hot summer night. Bethalto has seen its share of ice cream shops come and go, but I think the Weather Vane is here to stay. Located on the busy corner of Rt 140 and Prairie St., it's almost impossible to drive by and not stop.
The original store was opened in Granite City in 1960. Since then, it has seen new owners and two additional locations. I think their move to Bethalto was a great choice since there wasn't much competition here.
