teresa meyer: How To Sell a DATED Home With Multiple Offers After 196 DOM- Staging Secret Revealed!
- 06/20/11 02:49 AM
Here in Cincinnati, more and more homeowners and agents are staging and of course that means that myself and team at Stage A Star have been staying very busy. I'm going to dive right in and start with this property that we staged back in September 2010. I wanted to feature this awhile back but never had the chance to fully finish the blog entry. This home was on the market for 8 months and after it was staged received 3 offers!! AND it was somewhat dated. While we always recommend doing some minor updates to help sell a house, sometimes this just (20 comments)
teresa meyer: Spring Market Staged Properties are SOLD! Here are the Results & Photos
- 06/02/11 06:35 AM
It's been a little while since my last blog back in the start of the Spring selling season where I encouraged home sellers to position themselves in the upcoming Spring months of March-April-May. This was so they would be SOLD by the beginning of summer and moving on to more enjoyable things in life than stressing over selling a home in this challenging market. If you missed it, you can read it HERE I thought it would be fun to revisit the homes that I featured back in March and see how they did now that it is officially SUMMER (June 2nd as (18 comments)
teresa meyer: My Active Rain Blog Lands Me In INC. Magazine- Active Rain Success Story
- 03/01/11 11:50 PM
I received a phone call from INC. magazine (a national magazine for Entreprenuer's and Small Business) back in January asking if I would be interested in being interviewed about using Evernote for my business. Apparently, INC. magazine came across my blog article I had written on using Evernote in my home staging business in Cincinnati. They had asked me in a subtle way if I was being paid to review Evernote- which I was not. I thought that was funny. Nope...I'm just an enthusiatic business owner thrilled to find something that makes my life easier. When I found Evernote, I was so excited (15 comments)

When you read about home staging, one phrase that's repeated over and over is: "Home Staging Will Help Sell Your Home Quickly And For More Money!" You've heard that one, right? You're nodding your head YES!...(now quit rolling your eyes with it...I saw that!) but does STAGING really do that? I've got a fabulous success story to share that truly testifies to the fact that staging can and does get results selling a home faster and for more money. If you're on the fence about staging your home or listing, consider the following success story... This personally is one of my (12 comments)
I have a confession to make...I've got a thing about staging Laundry Rooms. The Kitchen may be the "heart of the home" but many hours are spent each week in the laundry room. And THAT makes this room a very important space to feature when selling your home. Many times when I am consulting with homeowners and we get close to the laundry area, they'll ask if I want to see it because after all, it's only the laundry room. In their minds, it's that space that's a catch-all for dirty clothes, shoes, coats, 5 cases of water bottles, (46 comments)
teresa meyer: Staging & Photography Strategies That Sold This Home In 17 Days!
- 01/13/10 02:08 AM
When staging a house the right way, a good professional home stager will use important strategies that highlight certain selling features or will help detract unpleasant ones. I'm not talking about using 'trickery' so let's not go there...you'll see what I mean in a minute. It's important to understand that staging is not just throwing some furniture and decorations from the local Home Goods into rooms and calling it a day. There is much behind the scenes planning that goes into the staging process and good stagers are considering everything the property has to offer and using strategic methods (16 comments)

Did You Know...That a Staging Consultation with a Professional Stager is worth its weight in gold when selling your home? Stage A Star had the opportunity to work with homeowners on the east side of Cincinnati this past May. I was referred to them by real estate agent, Jason Bowman of Remax Elite. I have had the pleasure of working with Jason for quite some time on all his listings he takes. A Staging Consultation is included in his marketing plan and every seller client meets with me first to create a "plan of action" so they know exactly what (20 comments)

I just had to share this blog by my friend Jackson West in Vancouver. A great example and many things to consider before you decide to try and stage yourself. There really is so much more to staging than just dumping some furniture in a space and calling it a day! All My Best!

I wrote last week about how distracting personal photos can be when it comes to selling your home: Old School Thinking: Personal Photos do NOT Make Your Home Feel More Like HOME While You Are Selling" I'm in a lot of homes as I consult with Sellers and I do see many beautiful and artfully displayed photos on the wall. Wall Words are very popular right now as well as frames with meaningful sayings that celebrate the family displayed and what is important to them. I see gorgeous black and white photography of families and children. And let's (29 comments)

teresa meyer: Staging Success! After 6 months on the market...staged & SOLD 38 days!
- 11/05/07 07:26 AM
This is a typical kind of house I see alot staging here in Cincinnati. This was a great house in a great family neighborhood and priced well but not selling. This home was on the market for 6 months with very little interest and no offers. The home had fantastic selling features but buyers were distracted by decor and zero WOW factor. The homeowner decided to drop his agent and re-list with someone else. The Realtor he re-listed with just so happened to be very savvy and knew without a shadow of a doubt that the home needed to be staged in order (10 comments)
