realtors: Is A Price Reduction Preferable To Paying For Necessary Changes? - 03/19/08 10:32 PM
As chapter president of the Metro NY Chapter of ASHSR, I am responsible for holding monthly meetings where area stagers can share ideas about the industry and work together to improve it. As it happened, I had a conversation with a realtor prior to tonight's 'teleconference' in which we discussed a seller's (15 comments)

THIS POST IS FOR LAURIE, WHO SAID THAT 'DRIVAL' IS FINE WITH HER....
I would like to share with my fellow Home Stagers, my feeling about the importance AND joy of working with local realtors (or at least A realtor!)....

realtors: When You Are Asked to Give a Seminar.... - 07/22/07 07:15 AM
Last Monday I gave my first seminar on Home Staging. It took place at the Woodmere School here on Long island. I was invited to do so by a realtor whose seminar I was a part of back in the early Spring. Since I had never done anything like that before with (15 comments)
realtors: Realtors and Home Stagers Partnering to Sell - 07/01/07 08:18 PM
I know that there have been many discussions here on AR about Home Staging and why Realtors should use it. One of the points that Stagers like to make is that just about every house can benefit from Staging in some capacity because it is difficult for Sellers to look at (19 comments)
realtors: Some Sellers Just Don't "Get It"! - 05/29/07 07:57 PM
Yesterday, while driving to the train station (in lovely Greenlawn, Long Island) to 'deposit' my middle child, I passed by a local house that was originally an FSBO for many months. I remember dropping off some Home Staging marketing material when the sign first went up, and I never DID hear from the sellers. Then (8 comments)
realtors: THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX: "Staging" an Open House - 05/19/07 07:51 PM
While staging today, and during one of my 3 trips back to my house to pick up some more things for the house, I had this thought..... I thought about how the realtor might not know that each of the 12 lamps that I had placed throughout the house had lightbulbs in (30 comments)
realtors: ERROR REPORT - Do you send? - 04/17/07 07:20 PM
OK - I know that this doesn't really apply to Home Staging or Real Estate, except that in a way it does because we encounter this from time to time while working online! I was just changing screens and, as it often happens, the computer was exceptionally slow in responding, so I (14 comments)
realtors: They Love Me, They Love Me Not..They Get It, They Really Don't Get It! - 04/06/07 08:02 AM
Lately I have been wondering why it is that I can give a presentation to a Real Estate office, who in turn become very excited about the prospect of using staging on their listings, and then never hear from them again? What happens after I leave? Do they 'file' the (34 comments)

realtors: The HGTV "Dream House" and Home Staging - 01/05/07 07:44 PM
For those of you who are avid HGTV watchers, you recognize that this is the time of year when the "Dream Home" Sweepstakes begin. Each year, since 1997, HGTV has built and decorated a house with a value of $1,000,000+ in different areas of the country. In turn, each house (18 comments)

This is the first time that I have ever gone there only to find the entire parking lot full of cars. As I waited for someone to pull out, a woman came over to my driver's side window (24 comments)

realtors: "Watson, I think that we might be on to something here!" - 10/26/06 08:04 PM
Have you noticed that the Stagers' blogs of the past few days have pretty much centered on one topic - and that is the implied reluctance of realtors to use Home Staging as part of their marketing strategy for their listings?
We've covered the importance of staging vacant homes, realtors who (4 comments)
