staged4more: Orange Accents Bring the Sunshine In! - 07/06/10 11:00 AM
Warm weather inspires warm tones - and there isn't a better or brighter one than orange.  If I could pull orange lipstick off, Nars Outsider would be my choice.  Unfortunately, it doesn't complement my skin tone and I might resemble an Oompa Loompa.
Until there's a hue that make me look as bright as I feel on most summer days, I'll stick to home styling. Check out these Outsider inspired accents from HGTV:

staged4more: Tips on Using White Decor as Your Canvas - 06/24/10 08:32 AM

I sometimes cringe when I see white furniture. Not because it isn't stylish or trendy, but because the absence of color makes me think of all the things that might find their way onto their surface, marring it's perfect complexion. But it may be that same quality that makes white perfect for styling a bare room - it serves as a blank canvas for your own distinct and personal touches.
Want to see if you can pull it off? Stick to these simple style tips, borrowed from Janice Lindsay's "All About Colour" and Maria Killam's "White is a Snob" … (4 comments)

staged4more: The Legend of St. Joe According to Snopes! - 06/22/10 06:10 AM
Wondering where the practice of burying a St. Joe to sell your home originated?
One legend says that European nuns in the Middle Ages buried a St. Joseph medal when asking the saint to intercede on their quest for a convent.  Others claim that it started when German carpenters buried small statues in the foundations of houses they built and then said a prayer to St. Joseph.  There are many who trace he connection to a chapel building effort in Montreal in the late 1800s.  A monk named Brother Andre Bessette wanted to buy land on  Mount Royal to build an … (1 comments)

staged4more: Getting Rid of Your Junk in the Trunk - 06/16/10 07:42 AM
Are you afraid of your garage or basement? Every time you walk near it, you *sigh* or *cringe* because of the clutter and things that you no longer use are eating up all the space. Now your storage is limited. This is why when I am out with clients at consultations, I always say:
If it is Staging to Sell "Clutter Eats Equity!" which is very true since buyers usually get so blindsided by your stuff, they can not see anything else, including their own belongings in your space. If they cannot visualize themselves living in that space, you can kiss … (2 comments)

staged4more: Selling Your Home? How to Shop for a Stager!! - 05/28/10 06:29 AM
In today’s competitive market, it’s important as a home seller to find cost effective ways to add value to your home and make it stand out to home shoppers.  Many sellers will take time to research their real estate agents with great detail.  When building your team of home selling professionals, shopping for and hiring a stager for your home is just as important.
If you run a search on Craigslist for “staging” under real estate services, several pages worth of stagers pop out.  All of them promise to sell your home faster and for more. Good or bad, how do you … (5 comments)

staged4more: What Celeb Apprentice Can Learn from Home Stagers - 05/14/10 04:50 AM
So I don't know if you caught this past Sunday's episode, but the two teams of celeb apprentices had to makeover and furnish these vacant condos in a short span of time to show as model homes. (Hmm, sounds awfully familiar...) It was interesting to watch for sure to see the transformations and the processes that both team went through. Both teams were given the same exact condo and below are the side-by-side comparisons from the teams. The photos on the left were from Tenacity, the photos on the right were from Rock Solid:

staged4more: My First Flip Adventure - 02/25/09 06:36 AM

Hey folks! So I have had my flip cam forever and I have just been recording random family stuff and traveling stuff for my own amusement. I finally put it to good use for my business last night for recording a 90-sec video pitch for one of my business partner Edith Yeung's new pet project: bigsuccess.tv
Using flip is super easy, but I must say recording is hard. After an hour of bumbbling and mumbling, I finally had a decent sounding video to show the world. It was very difficult for me, because I was not happy with the way … (17 comments)

staged4more: New Staged Listing! Sherwood Serenity — 150 Casitas Way San Francisco - 05/17/08 07:26 AM
This was a very interesting project. The owner’s daughter was an artist and they traveled around the world a lot so they had very interesting artwork and collections throughout the home. They were very interesting stuff, but just not suitable for staging and the purpose of selling. If the home was not staged, the buyers will be focusing on the sellers’ collection and art and not see the house itself.
The seller was also very resisting to change, which I fully understand. After all, she lived in the home for about 40 years. It’s understandable that this is a very drastic … (6 comments)

Just Staged! #1106, 88 King Street, San Francisco. Click here for Virtual Tour.

This is a very interesting and challenging property to stage. The sellers already had very nice stuff, I added artwork, accessories, some small pieces of furniture to bring more style and stage the home. The most challenging part was dealing with the AT&T ball park traffic, looking for parking every 2 hours and mainly unloading and loading. Me and my assistant (Read more …)

staged4more: Redesign for Work WORKS! - 11/13/07 04:58 AM
I surprise-visited little raspberries recently (so the owner won’t clean up before I show up hee hee, I can find out how they really organize the store…) which is a infant & children’s resale boutique that I had a couple consultation sessions with back in January. The owners didn’t have much money but they had been acting on my suggestions from our consultation sessions and working toward making the store more organized and transforming into the space that they dreamed about when they first bought the store last December.
Formerly known as Darla’s Baby Boutique, when mr. & mrs. raspberry bought … (3 comments)

staged4more: Another Successful Staging Story!!! SOLD! OVERASKING! $49,000!!! - 10/21/07 06:31 PM

I was SO happy when I met with the seller Friday to de-stage the home and he told me that their house has been sold $49,000 OVERASKING! It took a little bit longer than they thought, but they got there. I staged it on 8/3/2007 and they received their offer on 9/29/2007. Not bad in a rough housing market, eh?
It was a really fun redesign project. The home owner had a lot of traditional Chinese furniture with detailed carvings that tell stories of folklores. The feet of the dining room chairs had lions’ feet on them. I covered the … (17 comments)
