Nothing slows you down faster than not having an available car! 
 My morning routine involved driving the car a mile and a half to Rose Park to walk around the park 6 times.  However, Thursday when baseball hail bashed the front windshield of my only car in,  I haven't had a car to drive to the park.

More than once now, I have forgotten to take a before photo of rooms that once staged were drop dead gorgeous!
It is so easy to get caught up in the excitement of getting it staged quickly that the before photos never happened.  
Before photos don't have to be taken with a good camera after all they are BEFORE photos!
 
However, sometimes the stars just conspire against you.

Another way to ask this question is should I market my home for sale in Abilene, Texas?  Asked that way, it might seem a little silly.  Who is going to say no, I don't need to market my home in order to sell it.  To be clear, home staging is a marketing strategy that does work.

Yes,  because the whole house is for sale.   That is not meant to be a glib statement.  As a professional home stager and Realtor since 2006, I have become increasingly aware of how emotionally attached we are to the way we live in our own homes.  What is perfectly comfortable for living is not necessarily how the home should be marketed for maximizing your profit from a sale.

Another blogger wrote about which blogs had gotten the most comments and views.  My blog on smelly houses a couple years ago got 80 some comments, and is my personal winner for comments.
Just like in Toastmasters, however, you compete with your self.  I have some other posts that are more informative, but the smelly blog titled "If you can smell it, you can't sell it." got the most comments so far.

Where does the bed go when staging the bedroom? 
When you live in the house - where ever you want the bed to go!
However, when you are selling or staging a vacant bedroom, this is a good time to think about where the bed goes.
 
The bed is the obvious focal point in a bedroom and as such should take center stage.  If there is a magnificent window view, then help the buyer envision waking  up to the wonderful view.

Wasn't it just yesterday that Christmas was months away?  The local grocery store  HEB shattered that myth with Christmas music resounding from every corner duirng shopping this weekend including the Hallelujah Chorus.

The Clearly Speaking Toastmasters Club meets every Wednesday Noon for one hour at the Southwest United Methodist Church in Abilene, TX.   This local club is part of the international organization of Toastmasters International and is a nonprofit educational organization to help people overcome a fear of public speaking.
Today was an exceptional meeting, with recognition of Toastmaster achievement presented to Jonna Chambers, local Realtor,  for completion of her Competent Communicator award and to  Mittie Blackburn, local professional accountant for completion of the Distinquished Toastmaster award.  The Distinquished Toastmaster is the highest educational achievement in Toastmasters.

Anybody who has ever had rental property has had that sinking feeling  as you walk in the apt or house after the tenants have moved out, and discovered that their MOVE OUT clean looks nothing like their MOVE IN Clean.   Sometimes this is the same rental where the tenant assures you that they always leave their places cleaner than they found them.I have never seen that happen, but hope does spring eternal!
