When Did You Last Update Your Active Rain Blog Design? - 04/16/10 01:41 AM
As a home staging and redesign trainer and author, I've been visiting various blogs on AR just to see what others are using to project their online image. I've seen nice understated designs; I've seen gawdy designs and I've seen dreary designs and I've seen bright and "happy" designs.
Have you ever thought about the image your blog portrays? Just like your business card, your letterhead, your envelopes, and your website, your blog is an extension of you and your business. So it would seem wise to make sure it speaks well of you, especially if you have an outside blog … (8 comments)

Bible vs. the Cell Phone - 04/15/10 07:19 PM
I got this message from a friend today. Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we flipped through it several time a day? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? After all, some improvement is better than none at all.
Take down heavy drapes and advise seller to put up sheers instead (or even nothing at all if there is a great view). Heaviness on the windows makes the home feel weighted down instead of spacious and airy. And you never want to … (7 comments)

Avoid this fax mistake - 04/06/10 09:28 AM
If you have a home office, do not trust 3rd party services that promise to receive and forward faxes for you. They will mess you up and could totally ruin a lucrative sale.
If consumers think you are too inexperienced or can't afford your own fax line, they just might go somewhere else. People want to do business with people they perceive to be successful and where their information is secure and safe. It's just human nature. How you are perceived is important to long term success in business.
Get a dedicated phone line for your fax machine. I recommend a … (0 comments)
