The Heights area of Houston will feature a Holiday home tour of six historic or new homes this weekend. Hours are Noon-6pm Saturday and noon-5 pm Sunday.

A.D. PLAYERS CHILDREN'S THEATER PRESENT A CHRISTMAS PLAY - 11/20/07 12:11 PM
The play, named "Christmas Went That-A-Way", tells the story of the people of Bonnot's Mill, who have become so distracted by the success of their world-famous hat making business that they have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. Can the children help the town rediscover the "reason for the season"?
The play runs Nov. 28 thru Dec 22 in the Rotunda Theater stage at St. Luke's United Methodist Church.  Show times are Tues. 7 pm, Wed. -Thurs. 10:30 am, Fri at 9:30 and 11:30 am, and Sat at 10:30 am.

The 17th Annual Community-wide Thanksgiving Dinner for Single Adults will take place Nov. 17 at Clear Lake United Methodist on El Camino Real. All Bay Area single adults and their children are welcome, and childcare is provided for children 3 yrs or younger.
Clear Lake United Methodist is providing the turkeys, and attendees are asked to bring side dishes.  The doors will open at 4 pm and dinner served from 5-7. Karaoke will be provided by Clear Lake Baptist church, and festivities will end at 8 pm.

The Kemah Boardwalk has a special "Holiday by the Bay" planned for Nov 25-27th. Presented by Kemah Merchants Assoc, Kemah Economic Development Corp and the city of Kemah.

Bill Wyatt will be speaking on "Soil Food Web" for the Dec 5 meeting. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BOAT PARADE ON CLEAR LAKE - 11/07/07 12:52 PM
Texas' 45th Annual Christmas Boat Land Parade on Clear Lake will be the evening of Sat, Dec 8.  This parade features about 150 brightly decorated power boats and sail boats crossing the Clear Lake channel from The South Shore Harbour Marina and the Nassau Bay Lagoon to Galveston beginning at 6 pm.
Decorations from the past have been traditional to unique, and provide a symphony of colors and music.  Boat passengers have included Santas, elves, angels, and dancers singing season's greetings to viewers shore side and on hundreds of spectator boats along the route.

DICKENS ON THE STRAND IN GALVESTON, TX - 11/06/07 10:09 AM
December 1 and 2 will mark the 34 th anniversary of this fun Victorian holiday celebration. Named one of the top 100 holiday events, it is the primary fundraiser for Galveston Historical Foundation.
It is such a fantastic family time, and this year great-great grandson Henry Dickens Hawksley will be the festival's guest of honor! Dickens on the Strand was started in 1974 as a costumed evening of Victorian food and period readings and entertainment. It is always held the first weekend in December.

Houston Symphony League Bay Area will meet Nov. 14, 10 am at Webster Presbyterian Church. The performers will be coloratura soprano Jennifer Bergeron and pianist Barbara Jones. The musical selections will be by Mozart, Debussy, Menotti and Tesori.
This will be an opportunity to hear one of our own. Bergeron grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from CLHS in 2000.  In 2004, she graduated from Pepperdine University with a BA in Applied Music and an award from the Fine Arts Division.
