Animal-Assisted Therapy Group Has New Member Workshop in Clear Lake Area - 04/06/09 05:58 PM
Faithful friends is an organization of volunteers who visit with their pets to area nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, mental health facilities and special events in the Houston Bay area. Heart & Sole Music Festival and Bone Cancer Walk on April 19 in Clear Lake - 04/06/09 05:46 PM
In 2001 when local resident Jori Zemel died at age 14 from bone cancer, her family started a foundation that has raised over $370,000 for bone cancer research.  This year's event will take place at noon at Clear Lake High School offering music, food, rock climbing wall, obstacle course, clowns and other festivities for children.  There is a $20 registration fee for the walk and festival, which includes an event t-shirt and many free activities.  Further information can be found at www.jorizemel.org or call 832-563-4212.
