SOUPer Bowl Please see the attached flyer regarding the "Souper Bowl Food Drive," which benefits the Avon/Avon Lake Community Resource Services. The community donating the most non-perishable items (by weight) wins a trophy. The game will be held at Avon Lake High School Memorial Stadium - Friday, August 29th at 6PM.
All food collected will directly benefit families in need right here in Avon Lake and Avon. CRS will also be accepting cash donations. Each $1 contributed will be counted as 5 pounds of food. One truck for each community will be stationed at the football field and will (0 comments)

The City of Avon Lake's Economic Development Advisory Board (EDAB) will be hosting a business expo on April 18th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hinkley Lighting (33000 Pin Oak Parkway). Admission is free to the public.

Avon Lake Homecoming Fall Festival Celebrate Hometown Pride September 29 - October 2, 2011 Four days of wonderful community celebration with the 2011 Homecoming festivities. The celebration will begin with the Great Pizza Bake-Off on September 29th and will culminate on October 2nd with the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. In between these dates there will be the Friday Night Football Game on September 30th, the parade on October 1st, and the afternoon festival on October 1st and 2nd. Come on out and celebrate Avon Lake hometown pride!
Registration for the 2011 season begins January 1st. In effort to simplify the process registration is available online from January 1st thru March 31st; register here. There will be two dates for in person registration; February 19th, 9am-noon and March 31st 6-9pm in the commons area at the High School. If registering in person, the registration form can be found here. For specific questions regarding registration please contact us at registration@avonlakesports.org. If you registered as a manager or coach (Asst.) you will need to complete the Kidsafe Background Check. There is a fee of $10.00 for the process that is good for two (2) years. You (1 comments)

The Bob Roesky -- St. Joseph CYO Basketball Tournament is just around the corner this weekend. Read The Avon Lake Patch article for more information. The event will take place at the Avon Lake high school and is hosted every year by St Joseph’s School. The event is so big in the area with some 25 or more schools participating, that they have to use both the main and auxiliary gym.The event takes place Feb. 12 and13, Feb. 18, 19, 20 and Feb 26 and 27.
