First Sunday - Monthly Arts and Crafts Event in Pittsboro
Sometimes the best events are small town events. Pittsboro, NC holds a "First Sunday" event every month, featuring original and handmade arts and crafts. Nothing mass produced is allowed in the vendor booths! First Sunday is held in downtown Pittsboro, and is a combination of local merchants and area artists as well as individual craftpeople. Pittsboro is just a short drive from Raleigh, and the event runs 12-4 pm, which makes it a great after church activity.

Silk Hope Elementary serves over 500 students in the Silk Hope area, which is northeast of Siler City and northwest of Pittsboro in Chatham County. The area is becoming sought after by families who work in the Triangle but want to raise their children in a country environment on their own land.
