Jordan Lake
Jordan Lake is one of the many treasures surrounding the Raleigh/Triangle.
When I first moved here, I commuted to Sanford every day from Holly Springs.  I saw the exit sign for Jordan Lake, but I had no idea how large this lake was, or how beautiful!
There are almost 14,000 acres of water.  But I have a hard time picturing how much water that is.

How about this:  It's about 12 miles from the northern tip to the southern reaches.

activities: Tavern Poker in the Raleigh Area - Where to Go and How it Works - Make New Friends in the Triangle - 02/18/08 11:17 AM
Do you watch ESPN?  I don't.  Thus, it was a surprise to me to learn that poker had made a world-wide entry into the list of sports a couple of years ago.  So it seems no profile of the Raleigh sports scene (which includes hockey with the Carolina Hurricanes, baseball with the Carolina Mudcats, football and basketball with the Wolfpack and the Tarheels, not to mention golf, soccer, and more) would be complete without a survey of the sport of poker.
I'm a complete stranger to the poker world.  My card-playing experience has been limited to the occasional round of … (2 comments)
