Americans Believe Home Prices Will Increase Sooner Borrowers Working To Reduce Debt Fannie Mae's latest national housing survey finds that most Americans believe the housing market has bottomed.  Seventy percent of Americans think it is a good time to buy a house, compared with 64 percent in a similar survey conducted in January 2010.
The Fannie Mae National Housing Survey polled homeowners and renters between June 2010 and July 2010. Findings were compared to a similar survey conducted by Fannie Mae from December 2009 to January 2010 and released in April 2010, and a similar survey conducted in 2003.

Real Estate Report - Home Prices Increasing Nationally and in Raleigh S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices show a 6.8% increase in national home values since the bottom of the market.
Home prices saw a very definite increase in the second quarter of 2010.  Good news for homeowners and those looking to sell.
- 2010 second quarter values increased 4.4% versus the first quarter.
- Home values have increased nationally by 6.8% since the first quarter of 2009 (the bottom point of the housing market)
- 17 of 20 areas evaluated saw home prices increase in June 2010 versus May 2010.

Consumer confidence - in jobs, the economy, and their financial position - has risen dramatically in the past month, as overall conditions continue to improve. 
Confidence in real estate continues to grow too.  We believe it - the available inventory of ready-to-move-into new homes is the lowest we've seen it in years.

Inventory is Down Throughout Wake County Single family detached home sales were up 7.43% year over year in October 2009.  Sales were also up 6% versus September 2009, and up nearly 10% versus August 2009.
How Many Homes Sold in October 2009?
Detached single family home sales do not include townhomes or condos.  The number of detached homes sold in October 2009 was 853, compared to 794 homes in October of 2008.

New Home Sales Show Unexpected Increase in October 2009 New Home Inventory at Lowest Level Since 1971 The US Department of Commerce released surprising statistics today regarding new home sales across the nation.
October 2009 showed a 6.2% increase in new home sales versus September 2009.
October 2009 new home sales were also up 5.1% from October 2008. 
This is the sixth time new home sales have risen over the past seven months, according to reports.

Additionally, new home inventory is now at record low levels.
