Raleigh Events with a Cause The Walk to Defeat ALS The Triangle's annual Walk to Defeat ALS will be held on April 2, 2011 at the Credit Suisse Campus in the Research Triangle Park. What is ALS? Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, effecting muscle control and movement. What is the ALS Association? The ALS Association is a nation-wide non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig's Disease through research, patient and community services, public education, and advocacy.
