Tacoma School Wins Softball College World Series - 05/22/12 03:58 PM
The Pacific Lutheran University Women's Softball team won this year's College Softball World Series with a 3-0 score over their northwest rival (and defending national champions) Linfield College.
The lady Lutes had a 44-11 record going into the final game of the NCAA Division III Championship Round.  They had won their quarterfinal game with a score of 8-0 in 5 innings.  Their semi-final game took a bit longer, as they had to play 12 innings to finally win 2-1.  This is the first time, since transistioning from NAIA to NCAA III, that they ladies softball team has won the national Championship.
