Increased Cell Reception Will Connect Litchfield County - 04/29/07 08:09 PM
As a Realtor in the picturesque northwest corner of Connecticut, I have come to accept dropped cell phone calls as an acceptable trade-off for living and working in an area that is removed from the pace of our nearby cities. Which is why it is with mixed feelings that I read of the plans of one of the largest cell phone companies to add expanded access for the Litchfield County area.
The plans include increased coverage and access to:
Route 44 and to western portions of Barkhamsted and surrounding areas.Route 7 as well as southwestern portions of Kent and northwestern portions of … (0 comments)

Goshen, CT, has made the Top 100 list of the most desirable places to live, according to the real estate industry website Relocate-America. The site takes into account housing opportunities as well as education, environment, economic and other quality of life factors. I was interviewed this week by the Litchfield Enquirer, where I spoke about the things that have made Goshen an increasingly desirable destination.
As I told the reporter, when I first came to Goshen, there there were no traffic lights, just the roundabout in the center of town. I always said, if they put in a light, I'll leave. And 33 years later, … (0 comments)

Optimism for A Summer Resurgence - 04/29/07 05:09 PM
While recent reports show that March was a cruel month - the worst for sales of existing homes in 18 years - the forecast appears more promising in Litchfield County, especially over the next several months. Dollar volume increases are giving rise to a more optimist market. We see Realtors making purchases of homes they perceive as great values during this market slump. It appears as though by the end of the summer prices should firm and new buyers will help the market advance if the fed holds the line.
In February, according to MLS data for our Ten Town Litchfield County CT Area (Litchfield, … (0 comments)

The Emotional Sale - 04/29/07 04:49 PM
After more than three decades in real estate, I have observed sellers growing increasingly savvy about staging their homes with furniture, decor, and flowers. What stagers remove from the house can be as important as the new pieces that they introduce to the space.  Sellers have heard, correctly, that removing distracting personal items makes it easier for potential buyers to imagine themselves in the home. The same goes for paring down years of … (0 comments)
