It's Parent's Weekend at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland.  Activities run from Thursday August 11th through Sunday August 14th.  On June 30, 2011 about 1,230 new midshipmen, called Plebes during their first year, arrived at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland for the start of Plebe Summer. This multi-week intensive training session is intended to transform civilians into military men and women.  This weekend will be the first time in weeks that first year Midshipmen will catch a much needed break.

Ann Brenoff's post "Home Listings: 10 Terms That Can Kill a Sale" on AOL this morning (August 9th 2011) shocked me into rethinking a few recent MLS descriptions.  In our MLS (www.MRIS.com) we're allowed only 400 characters to describe a home.  The description is propagated throughout the Internet via listing syndication.  Potential buyers can "read between the lines" and Ms. Brenoff's list of no-no's reminded of that.  Her list is short:

On Monday August 1 2011 the temperature felt like it broke another record only to just barely crest 91 degrees.  By early evening conditions were just right for sever thundershowers.  Bearing down from Baltimore, crossing the Chesapeake Bay, storms approached Stevensville Maryland.  On either side of Thompson Creek storm cells passed with little rain falling between them.  The sun set in the West-northwest sky.  Clouds turned from blue-grey to yellow-orange.  The temperature fell from 90-something to 70-something bringing welcome relief.  It was a spectacular sunset on Thompson Creek … (6 comments)
