There are some green in the Triad... - 10/31/07 01:09 PM
There are some Green Builders in the Triad: Green Pointe Properties! These guys are great and really have their ducks in a row. They have done the research and have developed the relationships to really do a green build. While their home costs about 20%-25% more than a conventional build, they are well worth the investment. The high efficiency greatly reduces utilities and more than compensates for the increased cost. Here is a little about them:
"Green Pointe Properties, LLC is a housing industry leader in the design and construction of homes that are socially, economically and environmentally sustainable. It is our … (3 comments)

Triad NC Green Builders? - 10/10/07 02:27 PM
No I am not talking about builders who dress like Lugi from Super Mario Bros. I am talking about environmentally minded home builders that take into account their effects on the environment. There are tons of things that can be done to keep NC Clean and green! First of all can we stop clear cutting every darn thing!! I know it can make site prep a little more difficult but the returns are far greater. Leaving mature trees can provide shade, it blends the "hardscape" of the house with the environment, and it gives the house more curb appeal to potential … (6 comments)

Why now is a great time to buy! - 10/09/07 10:16 AM
If you pay attention to the news you have probably heard from all the analyst that this is a horrible time to buy real estate.....wrong! For a national analyst to say that the national market is not that great is like a meteorologist saying that the temperature is going to be 92 degrees everywhere.....you can not do that! Real estate is a local market and should be analyzed that way. Here in the triad it is a great time to buy because there is a ton of options and prices are down. It is like playing the stock market buy when … (2 comments)

Swimming pool and value in NC - 10/03/07 11:45 AM
I get this question a lot! "Does a swimming pool add value to my home?" It may have cost you $30K to install but you will probably not get that much money back. Swimming pools typically do not add a lot of value if any to a home in the Triad region of NC. The reason for this is that some people love a swimming pool and desire to have one. However, many other folks hate a swimming pool and do not want to handle the maintaince. I have seen some people fall in love with a house because of the … (0 comments)

514 Fairview Lexington, NC - 10/03/07 11:34 AM
This is a wonderful older home in Lexington, NC. This home is located in the city of Lexington and is really large! This home has around 2000sq feet and 2 full bathrooms. It was built in the early 1900's so it does need some updates but would be a remarkable home with a little TLC. It does have gas heat but not A/C. Tons of character and potential. Please feel free to call or email for more information or check out our website at www.thecarolinacrew.com

Why Keller Williams? - 10/03/07 09:50 AM
Keller Williams Realty, Kernersville my family of choice. When I came into real estate I was not sure it was exactly what I wanted. But my sister had done it for a few years and really liked it. She told me she would pay for my class if I wanted to go to school, so I said okay. Well after I came to Keller Williams it became clear to me that my choice was a good one. I found some great friends and what I now call my extended family. I commute about 45mins a day (when I have much closer … (2 comments)
