Sunday for Father's Day we were looking for fun things to do with the kids so we all agreed to head up from Parker to Breckenridge for a day at the Peak 8 Fun Park. It turned out to be a great fun day for all the kids and parents. VIDEO BELOW! Garrett our 4 year old said the Alpine Slide was waiting for him and only him. Since he's 4 years old he rides the slide with me which means FREE and we like FREE in our house. So for $25 for three rides Garrett and I hit the sled and plowed down full speed. He giggled the entire way. Loved it! Take the chairlift up to the top then choose your sled. They have three tracks to choose from and they are all pretty much the same. He sat between my legs and we were off. Go try it I highly recommend it.

We also purchased tickets for him to climb the Rock Wall and the Sky Fly Power Trampoline. Challenger Park Estates is located on the East side of Jordan Road in Parker, Colorado. There is an active HOA and thee are covenants and restrictions for this neighborhood. Parks and bike paths are located within the neighborhood howeve there is no pool. The neighborhood is ideally located against the Cherry Creek Bike Path for quick and easy access.

Home prices in Challenger park Estates range from the $300,000's to over $500,000.

We did choose the $25 all day pass as I didn't want to go back and buy tickets all afternoon.I was a little disappointed with the rain and lightening each afternoon but it really didn't start until just about the time we were ready to leave. I haven't seen it this crowed in years. There were by far more people here this year than last. Maybe because fewer people are traveling because for the economy? Just guessing. Our 4 year old had a blast and so did I. I think we rode every ride my son was tall enough to get on a minimum of two times. We did only ride the rides on the kids side and not the big kids section as my son calls it. READ the FULL story here!

 

This is a really cool photo taken yesterday June 7th, 2009 in the Saddle Rock neighborhood in Aurora, Colorado. Pretty sc ary huh? The news reported several tornadoes in the area and I did get a decent photo of one myself out on the plains east of town but my shot wasn't nearly as good as this one. If you live in Stonegate or plan on buying a home for sale in Stonegate you better know the watering restrictions. Yep we still have watering restrictions even though we haven't had a drought in several years. No worries, I think everyone is fine with it and I truly do believe that we need them since my yard looks great and I don't water half as much as I probably could.
  • No watering before April 15th or after October 15th, 2009.
  • Even addresses [ending in 0, 2,4,6,8,] can water on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday.
  • Odd numbered address [1,3,5,7,9] can water on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
  • NO Watering on Wednesdays.
  • Watering is allowed between the hours of 7PM and 8AM only on your designated watering days.
  • They do allow a three week grace period for new lawns installed prior to Memorial Day and after Labor Day.
  • Stonegate Village Metropolitan District is in charge of our water. Their number is 303-858-9909.

My advice. Check every sprinkler head in the yard. You can inexpensively replace defective heads in about two minutes and save yourself a ton on your watering bill. Why waste your cash and all of our water. Be smart about it. If you see water running down the street every time the sprinklers are on something is wrong. You should be watering the grass not the street and sidewalk. Lowes and Home Depot sell spare parts cheap and they are simple to install.

The annual neighborhood Stonegate garage sale is starting this Friday June 5th. Expect garage sales all over the neighborhood on Saturday and Sunday. Stonegate is located in Parker COlorado on the north and south side of Lincoln Avenue where it intersects Jordan Road. THree miles east of I-25 on Lincoln Avenue.

Expect many sellers to be ready as early as 6:30 but most will be out and ready for business between 7 & 8 AM.
